MAXSUN and DIY-APE revealed a collaborative motherboard model last November, as noticed by members of the TPU community—the H770YTX D5 WIFI Terminator board attracted attention due to its unusually wide (for the ITX class) dimensions. The Terminator's "YTX" form factor—245 × 175 mm—provides some extra room for backside power connectors, additional storage connectors and M.2 storage slots. A past weekend ITHome report has revealed that MAXSUN's fairly compact mid-range part is launching today via a JD.com store listing—release date pricing is 899 RMB (~$126).

The spec sheet matches previously released information—ITHome stated: "(MAXSUN's) Terminator H770 YTX motherboard uses 8+1+1 phase power supply, supports (Intel's) 12th, 13th, and 14th generation Core processors, PL2 can reach 253 W performance release, and also supports dual-channel DDR5 8000 memory. This motherboard has rich interfaces, with three Type-C interfaces at the front and rear. The PCIe 5.0 slot supports 8+8 split, provides four M.2 slots, SFF-8654 interfaces, and supports four SATA hard drives. It is equipped with Realtek Sound card and network card." They note that MAXSUN has another YTX form factor board in its back catalog—the H610 KING was an early 2023 release, in collaboration with partner brand DIY-APE.

Wccftech's mid-November 2023 report contained a nice selection of promotional images:

Will not buy it, but i like design too. Battery placement is good, SSD are accesible, two DIMMs, socketable BIOS chip. Cool.

It's not clear to me if the ITX case fits this type of board.

It is mentioned many times. It is not ITX but YTX, google YTX compatible case, there are some.

I would love it, if it had 5.1 audio jacks. It certainly appears to have the space to have implemented them.

I don't know if I think of this board as wide, as much as long. (Insert middle school humor here)

Just to add a few points here:

Firstly, the maxsun H770 YTX motherboard's memory slots can support memory frequencies up to 8400Mhz, with a memory timing of 40-52-52-134. However, it's important to note that the CPU must also be able to support such high-frequency memory, like the i9-14900K, for example.

Secondly, the pcie 5.0 x16 slot on the H770 YTX supports lane splitting, which can be divided into 8+8. This allows for the use of graphics cards with an M.2 Drive interface, such as the ASUS RTX 4060ti. Additionally, the sff-8654 4i interface on the motherboard can be converted into one pcie4.0x4 or four SATA interfaces. With this setup, a maximum of six M.2 pcie4.0 hard drives can be connected to the motherboard.

Thirdly, the H770 YTX motherboard has two Type-C interfaces on the back (with a speed of 10Gbps) that both support video signal transmission. This signal transmission comes from the integrated graphics of the CPU. If a CPU without integrated graphics is used, these two Type-C interfaces cannot output a video signal.

Fourthly, the Wi-Fi card model on the motherboard is AX101.

And finally, the maxsun H770 YTX does not support CPU overclocking.

This is a pretty interesting board form factor and I hope it goes places. It'd allow for builds that are almost as compact as ITX but with a lot less limitations :)
