Valid point. I see some early issues in reviews that will require a firmware update in the future. I wonder why you can't use USB-C for firmware updates.

Watchout for Alienware. The Dell calls the HDMI ports "2.1" on the AW2725DF but they only have 2.0 bandwidth (18Gbps). The maximum refresh rate at 1440p is only 144Hz.

Yeah I've noticed that. I'm sure they'll have 4K DP 2.1+ screens with gsync modules by the time that game releases on PC.

I was shopping around for an AV receiver a while back and a lot of brands were really bad about advertising their HDMI speeds so I just gave up until they get past the transition models.

Blame the HDMI forum for that, Dell is just following the spec. You can find easily enough that it's HDMI 2.1 TMDS but that is a problem the HDMI forum created voluntarely

Technically speaking they could if manufacturers implemented it. USB-C itself includes dedicated pins for USB 2.0 if it was a case of not wanting to deal with lane configurations between display and data transfer.

Do the monitors without USB-A ports still come with USB-C? That's weird

I was super interested in the MSI 321URX but find it very interesting that there is the 321UPX version.
Is the only different really lack of usb A ports? could the firmware be updated via the usb C port? I dont really care about any of the gimmicks or frills. I just need it as a good 4K high refresh rate OLED display.

I am also confused why the product page on newegg for both the 321urx and 321upx say 2560x1440 @ 240Hz.
Does the panel not actually do 4K @ 240Hz but has to drop down to 1440p to achieve 240?
