Thermaltake today introduced the MS-1, a fan-heatsink cooler for SSDs in the M.2-2280 form-factor. The cooler consists of an extruded aluminium heatsink with a flattened copper heatpipe running along its length, to more effectively spread heat from the controller across the heatsink. Thermaltake also includes a thermal pad that's meant to be installed between the heatsink and the drive, to compensate for any minor Z-height differences that may exist between the controller, DRAM chip, and the NAND flash chips. There is a second thermal pad for components on the reverse side of the drive's PCB, which makes contact with the "taco shell" backplate of the cooler. This heatsink is ventilated by a tiny fan which turns at speeds of up to 8,000 RPM, pushing 0.44 CFM of airflow at 1.6 mm H₂O static pressure, and a measured noise of 16 dBA. The fan is rated for 60,000 hours by Thermaltake. The cooler measures 74 mm x 23 mm x 17.9 mm, and is designed to minimize interference in the CPU socket area. The company didn't reveal pricing.

Decently sized heatsink with fins and a fan. Also from product specs mention it has 2510 - 3Pin fan connector so no PWM control but atleast motherboard should allow for fan control.

Edit: attaching "test" report posted by Thermaltake.

@freeagent I am probably going to get one of these just to keep in storage for a future build. What have you done to me?

0.44CFM at 8000RPM. Just for your reference, your bog standard 120mm fan at 1600rpm will do at least 50CFM, that's 100x more.

I would rather have a Thermalright :)

ah I thought this was thermal right... FML. I am tired. I hate these company names sometimes. I would never buy thermaltake.

If they made this without the fan, it would've been much better.
