To all Dragon's Dogma 2 players. We would like to update you on the status of the following items, about which we have received numerous comments from the community. To all those looking forward to this game, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.

Regarding Frame Rate
A large amount of CPU usage is allocated to each character and calculating the impact of their physical presence in various areas. In certain situations where numerous characters appear simultaneously, the CPU usage can be very high and may affect the frame rate. We are aware that in such situations, settings that reduce GPU load may currently have a limited effect; however, we are looking into ways to improve performance in the future.

Crashes and bug fixes
We are investigating/fixing critical problems such as crashes and freezing. We will be addressing crashes and bug fixes starting from those with the highest priority in patches in the near future.

The option of starting a new game
We are looking at adding a feature to the Steam version of the game that will allow players that are already playing to restart the game. We will announce more details as soon as we can.

Paid DLC
All the items listed below can be obtained in-game or as paid DLC items:
  • Art of Metamorphosis - Character Editor
  • Ambivalent Rift Incense - Change Pawn Inclinations
  • Portcrystal - Warp Location Marker
  • Wakestone - Restore the dead to life!
  • 500 Rift Crystals / 1500 Rift Crystals / 2500 Rift Crystals - Points to Spend Beyond the Rift
  • Makeshift Gaol Key - Escape from gaol!
  • Harpysnare Smoke Beacons - Harpy Lure Item

Does anything get tested before releasing lately? The number of big games I see packed with bugs on release is crazy.
No reason doing so, cus people still willingly buying games at lunch. Those early, eagerly, players technically paying - time and time again - for the developer to find the the bugs for them.
I`m not touching any game, especially the hyped ones, before 6 month have passes and preferred 1 year.

We're officially all considered as total morons. Otherwise we wouldn't have to read this kind of a press release from a multi-billion company.

- Yup, gamers are almost by definition a bunch of dopamine junkies just looking for their next fix. Its nearly impossible for a substantial subset of the gaming population to avoid that "build-up and release" dopamine hit that comes with the Hype, pre-purchase, pre-load, and release cycle of whatever AAA game flavor of the week is out there.

Dark patterns in marketing manipulating our inherent need to have shared experiences with others combined with good old fashioned lack of self control and its a perfect storm of buggy release after buggy release.

To paraphrase ole Ben Franklin, you get the hobby you deserve.

Everyone needs to learn the lesson and mature eventually. I am not without fault. After Mass Effect 3, I never day one purchased another game again. I am 100% on the Wait at least one year, Sale price of $10 or less, feature complete edition patient gaming train.

I actually fired up Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen for the first time this week, been sitting in my Steam Library for years, got it for $5 a few years ago. Fun-ish game with some jank, and if it doesn't entertain me then I am out all of $5...

Benchmark Scores Benchmarks in 2024?
Was to be expected. No 60 FPS mode on consoles usually means CPU bottlenecks.

Zen 4 and Raptor Lake are doing relatively well, as these chips can offer over twice the gaming performance of what's in current gen consoles. But people on Zen 2 or Coffee Lake are definitely struggling.

Hard to sympathise with people that rush out and buy a AAA title on release and then complain about the pathetic state of the game that was as sure as a sun rise. I get the annoyance about microtransactions if they did not advertise that fact prior to release. Anyway I have always called them CRAPCOM for a reason.

This is in no way limited to games. People with no patience just have to pay extra. It's worse with PC games as they can be deep discounted after a bit of time has passed.

We must have an AI assistant to find and fix those bugs prior to lunch.

Investigating or something they already known, just pretending it something new? I mean these games are tested on a variety of machines, and quite frankly should not be something they have not caught. I don't think there is anything wrong with having some bugs here and there at launch, and there is nothing to hide. The problem with this game is less about the bugs, more of the build in paid to win "bugs". Coming from Capcom, I wasn't surprised since this is not the first time they are doing it.
