An addition to ARCTIC's extensive range of fans: The P14 Max complements the existing high-performance series with a high-performance 140 mm model. The P14 Max impresses above all with its extremely wide speed range, which extends from a minimum of 400 to a maximum of 2800 rpm. It's equipped with a Fluid Dynamic Bearing, allowing for near-silent operation at low speeds, while at the same time guaranteeing brutal performance when it's needed.

As ARCTIC's most powerful 140 mm fan, it provides a significant leap in performance over existing air- and water-cooling solutions. Like the P-Max models already introduced, the high-speed fan is also characterized by proven features such as the closed ring fan wheel for low-vibration rotation and a focused airflow at high static pressure.

In addition to the classic single fan, the P14 Max is also available in a practical pack of 5.

Features
  • Wide speed range: 400-2800 rpm
  • 0 rpm under 3% PWM
  • Fan optimized for static pressure
  • Fluid Dynamic Bearing
  • Maximum smoothness, minimal vibration
  • Ideal for use on radiators & heat sinks
  • 6-year warranty
Availability
The new P14 Max is now available on ARCTIC webshop, eBay and Amazon for the price of € 11.49 (MSRP € 17.99), the P14 Max - 5 Pack is available from € 43.99 (MSRP: € 59.99).

0 RPM under 3% PWM.... so where does the 3% of energy go? Heat from the motor due to a locked rotor?

This is the PWM control curve for this fan

arcticp14maxpwmcurve.png

So the setup is that any PWM signal from the motherboard header that is below 3% results in 0 fan rpm. So no power is being consumed. At 3% the fan switches on and runs at around 400 rpm. It is more common for 0% PWM = 0 fan rpm but Arctic have used up to 3% for some reason.

Like many Arctic fans, the P14 Max is 27mm wide rather than the standard 25mm width.

Manufactures slowly just making thicker and thicker fans in order to "outcompete" each other in tests.
The extra 2mm here likely come from the compressible rubber pads instead of the fan frame/blades, making this effectively a standard-thickness fan.

You say that like it's a bad thing
Thickness is not really a limited factor for a fan in anything but the smallest case.

I wish 30mm was the standard and 25mm was considered "thin".

Processor Atom Z3735F 1.33GHz
Motherboard It has no markings but it's green
Cooling No, it's a 2.2W processor

Storage 32GB eMMC and 128GB Sandisk Extreme U3

Audio Device(s) Apparently, yes
Power Supply Samsung 18W 5V fast-charger
Mouse MX Anywhere 2
Keyboard Logitech MX Keys (not Cherry MX at all)
VR HMD Samsung Oddyssey, not that I'd plug it into this though....
Software W10 21H1, barely
Benchmark Scores I once clocked a Celeron-300A to 564MHz on an Abit BE6 and it scored over 9000.
2800rpm at 140mm is decently blowy.
The P12 Max wasn't the best fan ever but it's a very good price/performance high-airflow option, so it's nice to finally get the 140mm variant launched.

Lol, on the 5-pack box it says 0 RPM under 2% PWM but in the manual it's 3%. German Gründigkeit?

Anyway, I might buy 2 for my sig rig.

It is more common for 0% PWM = 0 fan rpm but Arctic have used up to 3% for some reason.

It's common for people to assume that but it's rarely the case, that would require more precise (read expensive) motor control which is just not worth it in this type of product. Most fans do exactly the same, they they have a minimum PWM duty cycle before they start like 5 to 10% and they start at a small speed like 200rpm or somethings instead of going from 0 (~200rpm on a regular 1200/1500 fan, since this goes higher it also has higher minimum rpm)

They won't have them because they're 0.35A, so the most you can daisy chain together is 2 fans (0.7A), 3 fans would be 1.05A which is above a standard 1A fan header. The risk of user error is too high. The original P14 was 0.15A so you could daisy chain 6 of them together.

if you want to make a point, at least use the correct word :D

@Blurpy
the 5 packs seem to have trouble after about 1-2y of use, at least all that i used (F/P) started to make a "ticking" noise at lower rpm,
while those from non-packs didnt.

Cable routing would be easier but pwm extensions are very cheap anyway. You can also do something similar to their PST models yourself, just take the pins out of the connector and slap a cable lead there.

the 5 packs seem to have trouble after about 1-2y of use, at least all that i used (F/P) started to make a "ticking" noise at lower rpm,
while those from non-packs didnt.

That's interesting, they're supposed to be the same exact models just in a more cost effective package, luck (or lack there of) perhaps?

@trsttte
Short of about a year that i worked in a pc part shop and had discount, im buying/using Arctic fans since 2003,
and that includes builds for friends/family not just mine (+50).

and that's ignoring some ppl on this forum stated the same, so no, not about luck.
