Creative Announces Three New 2.0 Speaker Systems

Creative has introduced three new 2.0 systems to its line-up. The leader of the pack is the GigaWorks HD50 which, besides featuring BasXPort technology, boasts titanium super tweeters for smooth playback. Standing at only 14.1cm, Creative GigaWorks HD50 claims to offer both power and incredible sound like no other 2.0 system. Next in the line is the already known GigaWorks T40, which features glass fibre cone drivers and a cloth design that provides better resistance to humidity and temperature changes. Last but not least, is the Inspire T10 for perfectly balanced audio performance. All three systems are set to be soon available in Singapore and on Creative's online store. The GigaWorks HD50 and GigaWorks T40 systems are priced at $149.99 while the Inspire T10 will cost $49.99.

does it plug into USB (Better for mobile/laptop use) or analogue?? if not will they consider making 2versions?

theres not that many portable speakers that you can plug in direct to USB available - sure you can buy them & i own a set of them myself but their hard to find & are few & far between if you do find one. (check mine out Altec Lansing XT1's)

it would be great if creative could bring more products for those who live life on the portable side

I think when everyone realized that the X-Fi's down sample the number of channels in games to 5.1 - so, all the gamers that use multi-channel as compared to a headset just aren't going to waste money like that . . . I mean, I wouldn't.

Plus, those that would but those setups for movie watching, etc, are probably more willing to shell out an extra $100-200 for a somewhat more higher-end product. Not saying Creative's setups were bad, but they weren't the cream of the crop, either.

first off, downsampling pales in comparision to actually having a proper surround sound setup. just because you can succesfully up or downmix your sound its still very artificial & wont give you the full effect of having a proper surround sound kit.

I am both an Audiophile & an avid gamer. even if i was just listening to music Id still consider getting a surroundsound kit.

there are those who just dont care then there are those who are totally paramount about their sound, but yeah the surround sound kits can be pricey but hey you get what you pay for.

Its like buying a set of headphones with 1 ear plug - what would be the point?? why limit yourself to just an ear plug when you can get 2 & have stereo?

in the end not everybody can afford to go surround sound. & thats what these set of 2.0's are for - Budget Orientated Gamers/Audiophiles/Moviebuffs.

I agree that not all of creatives products are amazing but then you cant slam them like that for bringing something cost effective with great quality & bang for buck to the table.

If you dont like creatives surround sound kits, there are always other brands available that will endevour to cater for your needs. Altec Lansing, Logitech,Genius, Philips etc.

Logitech comes highly recommended

Oh, I completely understand it - I'm looking at it from how the vast majority probably do . . . I mean, for example, there are those that can hear the difference between a 5.1 setup and a 7.1 setup, and there are those that can't, y'know?

Anyhow, I currently use a headset, mostly due to audio restraints where I live (I still live with my parents, so I'm courteous as to not aggrivate them with music or games). I'm an audiophile myself, and when I do get around to purchasing a setup, it's going to be a combination of selected pieces from Pioneer (my brand of choice for audio equipment).

2.0-2.1 because the MAJORITY of people dont need/want surround for the system. Most people (think people that use their computers for things like word and thats it) are fine with the speakers. Usually they only do things like listen to music which was made for 2.1....although if you can get it to scale right surround sound is beautiful. Anyways, another thing is that laptops are also becoming or have become (I forget which) the majority of computers...and we only have 2.0/2.1 available to us (unless one buys the x-fi card for laptops)
