Corsair today announced the launch of its first 30 mm-thick PC cooling fans, the RS MAX Series. By combining extremely durable Liquid Crystal Polymer material with a larger fan blade bolstered by AirGuide technology, Corsair's expert engineers have created its best performing fan with zero compromises. The RS MAX Series connects with a simple 4-pin PWM header, enabling precise adjustment over fan speeds without the need for a separate controller.

With a 20% increase in thickness over standard fans, the RS MAX Series can spin at a lower speed to generate the same airflow as its thinner counterparts - translating into lower overall fan noise. no Antec has had some for a long time now. I am not sure if Phanteks does or not, but I think they do.

the Antec 30mm fans are only 3 pack for 35 bucks off amazon. @Super Firm Tofu owns them if you want his opinion

I doubt making the fans a bit thicker would address the basic shortcomings of Corsair's choice of fan blade design. The regular RX fans aren't really impressive.

I wonder if Noctua is going to jump on the 30mm wagon too, I mean the difference is quite noticeable, especially for radiator/CPU fans.
Not everyone has 140mm compatibility, however many do have that extra 5 mm

I don't give a sh*t how much air they move at any rpm's or how thick they are, $47/fan is outrageous IMHO, especially in a 3 pk, which should be $100 max

At 50mm the ammount of builds that would have enough clearance to install that kind of fan would decrease very sharply. I'm not saying there isn't a place in the market for such monstrosity but I'd expect to pay a fairly high premium for such a low volume product.

The same happens for 38mm to a much lesser degree, 25mm became standard for being a good compromise between performance and clearance.
