Not much of a progress..
21 Aug 2023 @ir_cow tested a Patriot kit already at 8000MT/s, 1,45v with 38-48-48-84-117 timings (copied from the review).

On the other hand if the price is right, why not.

Hmm this must for in preparation for the next socket. No offense to MSI, but they don't have a 2-slot motherboard and running 8000 MT/s on 4-slot is a questionable endeavor Intel for 13/14th gen.

What I'm getting from this press release is the "MPOWER" aspect is memory software for the MSI motherboard.

Or it just Xtreme memory with MSI branded like XPG does for ASUS ROG and Team Group for ASUS TUF.

MSI was supposed to be releasing a 2 DIMM slot MPower Z790, but as far as I'm aware it hasn't yet appeared. Of course the press release indicated it was a rather low end board features/VRM wise other than the memory support so maybe they opted to not.

Interesting. I did watch a video with Kingpin saying the EVGa BIOS team was going to MSI. Might be why the revival of the MPOWER is upon us. Still though, doesn't make sense to release anything else high end for the 1700 socket. Not when we are less than 6 months away from the new socket.

If it were 128GB (64 GB x 2) then I'd support the hyperbole. 2 x 16GB is entry level to me. I only build PC's with 64GB as minimum. I started using 32GB back in 2010.

LOL. Couldn't say any beter. The fantasy of these marketers is so shallow, it really is borderline to copyright infringement. Or they might be the infamous beemer fans.
At least Patriot has managed to differentiate the logo from now "Fiat" Viper. But they are now closer to the Sapphire Nitro+ instead, TBH. Sorry for offtopic.

Interesting. I did watch a video with Kingpin saying the EVGa BIOS team was going to MSI. Might be why the revival of the MPOWER is upon us. Still though, doesn't make sense to release anything else high end for the 1700 socket. Not when we are less than 6 months away from the new socket.

If the addition of the EVGA staff to MSI would lead to better products and increased reliability, then it's a win-win situation. And it would be even better, if this would apply on the entire stack/range of motherboards, and not only some limited number, belated halo products. At least MSI has the budget to do it.

A joke indeed. Even DDR4 on it's late stages, had 32 and even 64GB single stick. And with current applications chewing the RAM like some snaks, 2x16GB is nowhere enough, let alone futureproof. Especially if consider, that even with filling all four slots, it would potentially hamper the performance, or even cause incompatibility issues. So in the end it would be required to buy a couple of newer more dense sticks, anyway.

The "dubious" decisions, that put into risky situations, the entire collab, befeore it even appeared to the market.
