The Audeze LCD range of planar-magnetic headphones have become legendary, appealing to music lovers as well as studio professionals worldwide. The earpads play a big role in the success of these headphones, and Audeze's Vegan earpads were a huge hit for their comfort and audio characteristics. Audeze discontinued their Vegan pads almost a decade ago, and now thanks to Dekoni, people can once again experience the added benefits and significant impact these pads have on the headphones they are equipped with.

Dekoni has always taken a passionate and careful approach to earpad development, making sure to honour the qualities of the intended headphones while also adding value with carefully selected materials and expertly tuned, subtle sound improvements.

The Vegan pads by Dekoni will stay true to the sound properties of Audeze's original version. When compared to the leather or faux-leather pads, the Vegan option delivers a more open sound with more bass control and a smoother top end. Not only are these pads more comfortable, they will allow users to listen for longer without the risk of fatigue.

To achieve the very best result, Dekoni has enlisted the experience of renowned audiophile and well-known YouTuber, DMS. Together, Dekoni and DMS have made sure to recreate these beloved earpads and bring them to a modern audience using the latest technology and finest materials possible.

DMS had this to say about the new Dekoni pads: "My all-time favorite pads are finally back. Dekoni re-invented the pads that made me fall in love with Audeze 7 years ago"

The Audeze Vegan pads by Dekoni use a soft and highly durable leather-free, microsuede material for the covering of the earpads. This material has been selected to be as close to the original as possible, is breathable, and provides superior comfort when compared to leather or faux-leather alternatives. Unlike the brown original, Dekoni's version will be available in black only.

Cushioning is provided by high-quality, slow rebounding memory foam specially selected by the Dekoni team. This material, along with the sloped design that is synonymous with Audeze, helps to provide users with long-lasting comfort for lengthy listening sessions.

Dekoni's Vegan pads for Audeze headphones are available to buy from dekoniaudio.com, Amazon and selected retailers worldwide for $89.99.

Vegan headphones......We are doomed as a culture.

It's for earpads! And they have been around for well over a decade. There are lambskin, calfskin, leather, foam, plastic, and vegan. Vegan just roughly translates into an organic cover (ie not plastic) that is not an animal hide. It's not even a marketing term it's a materials term. It's just easier to say vegan than "organic material covers not made from an animal".

Vegan is something that has been used and has fuck all to do with food for a long ass time.

Everything was taken out of the soil, but it has gone through such a technological process that it is not similar to anything organic. In Poland, during communism, people used to joke around saying, "What is a tomato?" It's a potato that has drawn blood. Those were the times, it's hard for some people to understand it if you look at it. has not experienced this

Nothing new. I chuckled when I realized Saucony was marketing a pair of shoes I bought as vegan, but I get it.
For those who care, it's a win for them marketing-wise. For those who don't, it's just synthetic leather, same as the seats in a lot of luxury vehicles, not a big deal.

These do look really comfy too.

Why is it that my natural reaction to the word "Vegan" is "bacon, smoked in a fire. mmm" every. single. time.?

Bacon earpads for my MDR-V7 next, thanks

Bold of you to assume we can own BMWs in this day and age. Too pollutant!

Not assuming anyone can own a BMW or luxury car, point is just that they've been using synthetic leather in them for years.
It's not a big deal is my point.

Oh no, that wasn't what I meant. It was a sarcastic note that modern "regulations" deem it ecologically incorrect to own a bimmer, or for that matter, anything made of real leather. Even an ear pad for your cans must be marketed as vegan and have an accordingly high price. You will eat the bugs and you will like it!

You can still own an ecologically healthy leather seated BMW that's electric.

Leather has not vanished off the face of the planet. It's rather common and considered less wasteful than just chucking it after eating the cow.

The issue with cows is not leather production but the fact that in some countries people eat so damn much beef it utterly destroys the local evironment and leads to giant lakes of shit and methane production. And that is an issue. Hell in the US exploding pig farms due to lakes of shit that bubble up methane are an issue. Or when hurricanes hit these farms and hurl giant lagoons of shit for miles. There was also one farm that liquidized the shit and then sprayed into minority areas.

Nobody is really complaining about the leather. It's the acres and acres of destruction and giant lakes of shit that keep flooding or exploding. Though exploding lakes of shit killing lives stock by the thousands is pretty funny. And really you don't want to be eating that meat anyways. Sure it's only like 8.99 a pound but it's horrible and often makes people stuff. The OK stuff starts at 20.99 a pound and the GOOD stuff is double that easily.
