MSI is showcasing its Roamii WiFi 7 mesh system at COMPUTEX 2024. Made to handle the increasing number of WiFi 7-supported devices and AI-accelerated applications arriving in 2024 and beyond, the Roamii series, with an integrated Qualcomm Immersive Home series, will be ready to bring an ultra-fast, easily managed WiFi network with 24/7 security protection throughout your home.

The Ultimate WiFi 7 Mesh System for Seamless Home Connectivity
MSI's newest WiFi 7 mesh system, the Roamii series, supports speeds of up to 21 Gbps thanks to extra-wide 320 MHz channels that double the bandwidth. The Qualcomm Immersive Home platform's powerful CPU drives advanced WiFi features, including 4K-QAM, Multi-RU, and MLO (Multi-Link Operation), across a mesh system that is designed to ensure its users experience seamless and uninterrupted internet access throughout their homes. Furthermore, a robust 10 Gbps wired connection is included, making Roamii series a great addition to a blazing fast home network.

"Qualcomm Technologies is proud to power MSI's Roamii WiFi 7 mesh system with our Immersive Home platform, setting a high standard for home connectivity," said Ganesh Swaminathan, Vice President and General Manager, Wireless Infrastructure and Networking, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. "This collaboration is focused on transforming the smart home experience with seamless, ultra-fast, and connectivity. Together, we are pushing the boundaries of what's possible in-home networking technology."

MSI FortiSecu
Network security is always a high priority and MSI FortiSecu offers 24/7 protection to all connected devices such as phones, laptops, and smart home appliances. Cyber security threats, such as data breaches and identity theft, could be done through a remote attack or infecting a local device with malware. MSI FortiSecu automatically scans each device when connected, and it will immediately block a compromised IoT device or abnormal traffic then send an alert by push notification to an owner.

In addition, FortiSecu's parental controls provide a safer way for young users to explore the internet. With a flexible and effortless configuration menu, parents can filter unappropriated content for different age groups and gain insight into their children's' online activity. Internet access can also be scheduled to allow or restrict users.

"As AI-accelerated applications and IoT devices continue to grow, the MSI Roamii series combines cutting-edge WiFi 7 technology with FortiSecu, delivering exceptional performance and enhanced network security to meet the needs of our users throughout their homes." said Vincent Hou, Assistant Vice President of GNP BU.

I love the tech behind WiFi steadily increasing, but does anyone have an ISP that comes close to exceeding WIFI 6E mesh routers?

Considering that most client devices are only 2x2 and WiFi in general delivers at best half of the advertised speed, yeah, piece of cake. I can't only just max out my Gigabit internet connection over WiFi, although I'm admittedly "stuck" at WiFi 6 speeds... This is testing using iPerf3 though, but my phone has some issue when I run speedtest on it and I can't max out my connection with it. On average, my now admittedly old, but still relevant in this instance, Pixel 6, maxes out at 1.25 Gbps running iPerf3, but I only get around 800 Mbps running speedtest.

That said, we're getting to a point where improvements in consumer WiFi aren't really worth asking price of some of the latest gen hardware.

Now you have me wanting to test out Xfinity's 2.0 Gbps cable internet. I have used Spectrums and Xfinity 1Gbps cable connection and I'm pulling 1.1Gbps on Speedtest.net through MacBook Pro Max M3. Sadly my iPhone 13 Pro Max didn't see similar speeds on Xfinity for some odd reason (locations are not the same so this is not simple 1 for 1 change when it came to the phone's results).
