Wooting 80HE Keyboard Pictured at Computex 2024

Wooting are the pioneers of of analog keyboards—keyboards where a keystroke isn't a 0 or 1; but rather quantifiable based on the key travel. The keyboard can measure the travel of a key in increments of 0.1 mm. Besides the numerous applications of such a technology in gaming and creative work, the keyboard also allows you to configure the exact actuation point of each key—something a regular "digital" mechanical keyboard can't. The new Wooting 80HE is an 80% version of the original Wooting One, and has all the keys you'd expect in a TKL (tenkeyless) layout. Every key is individually RGB illuminated. The keyboard's electronics support 8000 Hz USB polling rate, for a 0.125 ms response time. The Wooting booth had an instrument set up, which could let you see the actual analog motion of the keystroke.

doesn't ANYONE know how to make a full-sized keeb nowadays ?

I'm soooo sick of seein all these mini-me kiddy-sized tois

Yes I know about the 2HE, which is really nice, but my comment was directed at the trend of practically every so-called "NEW" keeb model being a chopped off toi, which Wooter seems to be following, like everybody else...

It’s called following the market. And Wooting always was oriented more towards the gaming crowd, particularly FPS competitive players, if we take in account their Rapid Trigger feature. These customers don’t need or care for full size boards, for the most part. If you want one, there are plenty of offerings from the likes of Keychron, Leopold, Akko and others. This is like wondering why Finalmouse aren’t making a trackball.

Someday I will own a Wooting, but it's going to be awhile. I think analog would be awesome in some games though, like Dishonored 1 and 2. Aim with mouse is always better, but analog of sneaking around in that game would also be awesome, so for some games Wooting would allow best of both worlds.

Years ?, didn't think i had mine that long, how time flys. Had to wait for mine over 2 months, waits not that long these days i hope.

Someday I will own a Wooting, but it's going to be awhile. I think analog would be awesome in some games though, like Dishonored 1 and 2. Aim with mouse is always better, but analog of sneaking around in that game would also be awesome, so for some games Wooting would allow best of both worlds.

Mines never let me down and the keys are as smooth as i first got it. Touch typing takes a little to get used to. analog with games can be tricky though. for a example Red Dead using the mouse will disable analog vise versa. CP2077 trigger ( right trigger ) will conflict with running if you use the same keys.

Their latest Youtube video emphasizes how much better the 80 is compared to the Two HE. Probably time for them to upgrade it, but when you look at the wall they list the Two HE as for "casual gamers" compared to the 60 and 80 because of the more updated SOC's and better latencies. They already did an updated 60HE+, so it was probably time to do the full size before the next chopped up fad. Alas, even Wooting, otherwise wise, are slaves to the fads. It's too bad. I'm waiting on them to update the full sized line before buying and it looks like I'll be waiting yet another year.

"better", keyboard responds in 3.4ms by default with LEDFX and 1ms- 1.4ms already depending on how you set it up. So better for who ?, them ? a very select few who would actually notice ?. We are not talking a wireless device the latency is top notch to begin with.

Not as most would notice it's only 3.4ns when you have the stupid LED FX running.

There is barely any gaming performance difference between 2HE and 80HE. Half a millisecond difference at most.
And the + for 60HE was screw-in stabilizers. Nothing else.
