The Goodram brand introduces the third generation of the PX500 NVMe PCIe 3 x4 SSD. The new series of drives is the answer to the growing demands of users who need fast and reliable hardware for both professional and personal applications.

The state-of-the-art architecture of the PX500 Gen 3 drive enables impressive read speeds of up to 3,500 MB/s, which is crucial for applications that require fast access to large amounts of data, such as games or advanced design programs. Meanwhile, write speeds of up to 2,800 MB/s ensure efficient operation even during intensive tasks such as video editing or managing large databases. Thanks to such parameters, users can enjoy not only faster system and application start-ups, but also lightning-fast file transfers and smooth multitasking. In practice, the drive's performance significantly speeds up all processes, minimizing waiting times and increasing overall user productivity.

High capacity for demanding applications
The PX500 gen. 3 SSDs not only deliver above-average performance, but also impressive capacity, allowing users to seamlessly store data ranging from the operating system to large applications and multimedia files, while providing fast access to stored information. The new series is available in capacities as high as 2 TB, allowing users the flexibility to suit individual storage needs. The storage space allows the system to be configured for both the needs of less demanding users and for advanced applications requiring large amounts of data storage.

"Goodram memory is designed to exceed user expectations in terms of efficiency, reliability and performance, making it the ideal choice for a wide range of technology applications," emphasises Wiesław Wilk, CEO of Wilk Elektronik. "Thanks to advanced NVMe PCIe 3 x4 technology, PX500 gen. 3 drive offers exceptional read and write speeds, which are crucial for applications that require fast access to large amounts of data, such as video editing, advanced design or handling large databases. I am therefore confident that with the rapidly changing demands of the technology market, this latest generation of drives will meet the needs of both professionals and users who are looking for reliable and quality technology solutions for home applications."

Technological innovations for maximum performance
Thanks to the state-of-the-art PCIe 3 x4 interface, the PX500 gen. 3 guarantees high throughput and optimal performance, even during intensive computing. This is especially important for compute-intensive applications and fast data access. The high interface bandwidth allows for lightning-fast data transfer, which significantly contributes to the speed and smoothness of systems. In addition, the PX500 drive incorporates a number of advanced technologies to enhance its efficiency and reliability. Error Correction Code (ECC) technology significantly improves data reliability by automatically correcting errors that may occur during data transfer. A wear leveling mechanism effectively manages data writes by distributing write operations evenly across the drive surface, which significantly extends the life of the SSD and prevents localised wear of memory cells.

Thermal throttling, on the other hand, is an advanced temperature control function that activates when the drive detects excessive operating temperatures, thereby reducing the risk of overheating and potential damage. The SSD PX500 gen. 3 is equipped with an advanced drive health monitoring function - SMART (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology), which provides the user with valuable information about the condition of the device. It allows early detection of potential problems to prevent failures and maintain business continuity. This feature also enables proactive management of the drive's condition, which is crucial for both professional and personal applications where the security and reliability of stored data is of paramount importance. This comprehensive approach to storage technology in the PX500 gen. 3 makes it the ideal solution for users requiring high performance, security and longevity in their computer systems.

Comprehensive protection and professional support
The PX500 gen. 3 SSD from Goodram is backed by a 3-year TBW limited warranty. The manufacturer also provides free technical support.

It's not like I'd call PCIe 5.0 drives necessary (much the opposite, actually), but how can someone in the year of the Lord 2024 call PCIe 3.0 state-of-the-art and spew all bullshit as if its speeds were the greatest?

'Don't get the hate, here.
It's not every day we hear about new releases from Euro-based tech companies.

At least for the pro/industrial/server industry, there's some actual manufacturing still done in EU.

[I have a thing for Fujitsu surplus kit (NICs), a lot of 'em say "Made in Europe" on it :)]

NtM, it looks like they do offer Gen4 drives too.

Notice, that they offer TLC and full pSLC NVME, only. These are Industrial NVME drives, not consumer.

Is this one of those throwback Thursday articles, or is it referring to China's state-of-the-art?

Just above this is a press release for a 15$ keyboard/mouse combo... feels like some sort of twilight zone.

if this has a good MSRP (think €80 for the 2TB model) this could be a great addition to the market at the low end - especially after the prices rose up from when they hit that level last year

PX series is a budget drive. Those have DRAM-less controlers. GoodRAM has IRDM series for performance.
For your information, GoodRAM is the only SSD manufacturer in Europe.

Is this your first time reading an article on TechPowerUp? All of those 'new hardware' one's are written this way. I rarely read them or look only for the inportant parts. It's nauseating to read all that glorified bull they write.

Consumer drives are made in the same factory. YouTube user visited their factory and showed the production process. You can watch it here:

I don't think it's the company itself that the hate is being directed at, but merely the silly, mickey-mouse nonsense that they spewed with this PR, the whole "state of the art" thing....
And since they supposedly have over 30 yrs of experience in the memory industry, they should know better, but apparently they chose to adopt the western way of over-hype everything & then let folks decide on it's merit or lack thereof :D

It's the TechPowerUp way. If you read other articles like this, they're all the same. It's hurtful to GoodRAM. They make good RAM and SSD's. I used their CL and CX series. Those were DRAM-less SATA SSD's. Gave a second life to old laptops.

It's NOT TechPowerUp that writes the press releases, they only host them for us to read.
