Per the support page the monitor firmware can be updated over DP to DP connection, so no need for a service center. Interesting feature.

I always chuckle at the first sentences.

DP has an auxiliary channel which isn't user accessible under normal circumstances, but that was intended for this kind of thing.

Its the same company that slapped EXPERT on one of their video card lines. I still like their hardware though. The goofy marketing....not so much.

Would be nice to know what actually is changed in the new firmware. Unless they just updated the version number because "users requested a new firmware". :D

With that logo on my notebook maybe I can now sit next to an Apple user without feeling less-than. :p

Ah, no, my bad, it was Creator, Summit and Prestige.
Asus is the company with the ExpertBook laptops.

Considering that the link in the article just links to a more verbose page with the same content on MSI's site, apparently so. However, I've since learned that MSI apparently had no plans for firmware updates for their "lower-end" OLED monitors, so the actual news-worthy piece here is that now they do.

This is said lower end models. Hence why MSI put out a press release to say that they will offer updates.
Also, if you had clicked through to said verbose, there were links there straight to the firmwares. o_O

A nasty, lying, greedy little company finally gives in to common sense. This is a textbook example of when the Marketing department run the show.

I think it was a good move on their part to make this happen. Now there is even less of a reason to buy the 321URX over the 321UPX
