There appear to be an ever increasing amount of gaming monitors on the market these days and the latest addition from Gigabyte is using a 4K SuperSpeed IPS panel. The Gigabyte M27UA sports a 27-inch display as the name suggests and it should be a typical 8-bit + FRC panel with a 95 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space, a 400 cd/m² typical brightness and a 5 ms grey to grey response time. The M27UA also offers a 160 Hz refresh rate which is in line with the best IPS gaming monitors out there and it's AMD FreeSync Premium certified. On the software side of things we find typical Gigabyte inclusions like Aim Stabilizer Sync, Black Equalizer 2.0, built in cross hairs, night vision and an FPS counter, as well as Gigabyte's OSD Sidekick which allows you to adjust the monitor settings from an app in Windows.

Gigabyte has equipped the M27UA with two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4, a USB Type-C with DP Alt mode support and USB PD at 18 W (no, that's not a typo). The Type-C port together with one USB 3.2 Type-B port and three USB 3.2 Type-A ports enable KVM functionality—there's even a dedicated KVM button at the back of the monitor. A headphone jack rounds off the connectivity options and there's also a pair of built in 3 Watt speakers. In addition to KVM, there's also support for Picture in Picture and Picture by Picture. The supplied stand offers height and tilt adjustment, but not swivel or pivot. One upside of this monitor is the relatively low power consumption of 34 Watts. There's no word on availability or pricing from the company.

Well, it's not their first monitor with SS IPS, although it's their first budget-ish model with it.

Wasn't sure how budget it was as there is no pricing lol

So an upgraded version of the 4K IPS panel they have now.
If it's cheap enough then it can be worth it, but only if.

There were also quality issues with the last ones.
I'm not paying ~$400 for a display that pops and creeks whenever you adjust it.

Neither am I, but the stand is a bit of a giveaway. I can't find any retailer listing it either, but as it's not an Aorus product, it should be something in their more affordable range.
I got something similar from Acer, which was sub $500 two years ago. It's down to about $310 now.

I like the pixel density of 27 inch 4k at the very least... Super sharp.

no 1080... i missed that

2006 called they want their monitor back jk jk... (could be wrong but I believe the first 1080p displays was show around that time)

I don't mind 24/25 inch 1080p displays but anything beyond that meh af.

I prefer higher fps than higher res. Movie look better in 4k but games to me all look the same once you use AA.

I like 360hz ips but prefer 175hz oled due to the pixel response difference. Also even with a 4090 it's hard to hit over 300fps in a lot of games unless I use potato settings....

27"@4K, power jack (no external PSU), VESA mount, ... sounds interesting. Gonna wait for a proper review, if the 5ms GtG is not too bad[*], this might be a good catch, depending on price of course.

[*] not really gaming any more...

5ms is standard for 1440p IPS a lot of 4k varients run closer to 8ms though. Some of the more recent high end models might be close to 4ms but I haven't kept up. I know the PG27AQN is around 3ms though but there could he other premium models in that range.

Its a minor thing don't worry too much about it :D You're not wrong. Every time I play an ancient game at low res I kinda feel like I'm back home again. Its not bad to look at, in fact its much easier to look at, to me, a lower pixel density. Every time in my life I had to 'move up' in resolution, I really need time to adjust to the increased density of detail/information. Its definitely a higher strain than lower res.

Time to get one of those new-fangled dual mode displays than do 4K 240 Hz and 1080p 480 Hz.

It was more so you could get a sharp image at 1080p and 4K on the same display.
