You can easily get a 2x8 pin to 16 pin adapter for almost every major psu maker. None of my power supplies have a native 12VHPWR or atx 3.0 socket yet all of them down to 750w seasonic GX works fine with my 4090 and all have a 2x8 to 1x16
But why should I use a bulky 2x8-pin adaptor when a single 6-pin cable would do the job just fine?

They are honestly pretty slim if you get a braided one not much more unmanageable than a single 8 pin and being able to do 100 to 600 watts makes it pretty versatile a lot of SFF Cases fit a 4090 FE these days after all but I mean for anyone who doesn't like it don't buy and FE card or high end nvidia one pretty sure their will be 5050/5060s with a single 8 pin just not from nvidia.

Exactly that, not bulky, not ugly, connect it once and forget it exists. I get the feeling half the people [still] complaining about the connector wouldn't buy an RTX 50 card anyway, even if it had 6/8 pin.

I get it for some though but yeah I wouldn't buy a card without one others won't with one good for them.

Let's how many people with their big mouths actually leave NVIDIA due to a connector.

I mean if you like Nvidia's feature set and want a high end gpu there really isn't going to be an alternative... I mean I hope whatever RDNA4 ends up being is amazing it's better for everyone when both companies are competitive and have good products but if it ends up being a 7900XT with better RT it better be cheap....

Since when? Have you asked AMD? And how many Radeons and intel Arcs exactly use this new low quality power connector?
This is not an AMD or an Intel thread is it? So it is obvious I'm speaking about NVidia standard 16 pin connector.

It's still an extra unnecessary cable plugged into the PSU contributing to more mess inside your case (coming from the guy who uses a single 8-pin CPU power cable even though his motherboard has 8+4 pin input).

but I mean for anyone who doesn't like it don't buy and FE card or high end nvidia one pretty sure their will be 5050/5060s with a single 8 pin just not from nvidia.
I hope Nvidia won't force partners to use the 16-pin on every card.

from what i have seen and read, there was the bending near the connector, then the quality of the connector which a famous cable group asked for the cables to come back
then it was from nvidia saying users didn't shove it in hard enough .... so there was like certain variations of what could go wrong.... kinda like the spiderman meme pointing at each others....

Many people will not buy an nvidia card because of the connector, the melting one.

I think it was a real issue don't get me wrong just me and none of my buddies all different models of the 4090 could reproduce it but we tried pretty hard during the 30 day return period..... I tried again recently when I broke the clip and didn't notice after my move in November lol.

I would at the right price. I only boycotted Ampere and Ada because of the price gouging happening on the green side lately.

as bad as Nvidia pricing has been a 900 usd 7900XT launch MSRP was pretty comical..... So neither company is immune to stupid pricing.

Clearly didn't try hard enough :slap:

I let it run at 600w barely plugged in for 10 days running looped speedway not sure what else I could have done but gotten a lighter and lit it on fire myself lol.

Both the 7700 XT and 7900 XT came at laughable prices, and I've still got mixed feelings about the 7600. But the 7800 XT and 7900 XTX aren't bad for what they cost, not to mention the 7900 GRE. On the other hand, I can't think of a single 40-series Nvidia card that's worth the price, imo. Maybe the 4080 Super, but that's a gigantic, massive maybe.

Generally speaking though the xx90 cards are made to last & solid. So any mishaps, even if possible, are usually rare.

I like the 4070/4070 super better than the 7800XT but I view all 3 as 1080p cards actually purchased one for that purpose.....

7900XTX was ok but most decent models were close to 1100 at launch rather have an FE 4080 at that price.

Of all the Radeon cards I actually like the 7900GRE the best at 550 but not a penny more.

It's finally hit the price it should have launched at...... Good for AMD fans I guess.

I wouldn't be so rude to point the finger onto normal people who value the better product.

it was a bad product at 900 it's fine now for 650 if you hate RT and can stomach FSR at 1440p I couldn't but hats off to those who can.

12 GB VRAM for over 500 quid? That's the textbook definition of the word "ripoff".

AMD launched most 7000 models at meh prices, but corrected most of them shortly after. Meanwhile, Nvidia launched most, if not all 4000 models at covid/mining boom prices and left them there. I hope they'll fix this with Blackwell, but I have my doubts.

it was a bad product at 900 it's fine now for 650 if you hate RT and can stomach FSR at 1440p I couldn't but hats off to those who can.
Why would you need FSR at 1440p with a 7900 XT?
