12 GB VRAM for over 500 quid? That's the textbook definition of the word "ripoff".
AMD launched most 7000 models at meh prices, but corrected most of them shortly after. Meanwhile, Nvidia launched most, if not all 4000 models at covid/mining boom prices and left them there. I hope they'll fix this with Blackwell, but I have my doubts.
Both cards are going to be too slow before the vram difference matters the 4070 is already struggling in some games and it has nothing to do with Vram..... 8 GB at 400 usd or above is stupid but the 7800XT is honestly too weak for me to care that it has 16GB the 4070ti 12 GB on the other hand was probably the GPU I liked the least but others have it and are fine so it is what it is.
Why would you need FSR at 1440p with a 7900 XT?
Because I enjoy having the FPS of a 4090 at 1440p which would take FSR to even approach with a 7900XT some games already only hit 60fps on a 4090 at 1440p UW as it is...
175 is my target btw I would be about 115 fps short in the last decedent without RT on a 7900XT lol..... Turn on RT and I am 140 short of that....
I am happy at 120 though anything lower nah.....
I'm not saying I am right or wrong on how I view gaming but everyone has their own personal taste... Someone happy at 60fps good for them cuz that is what the 7900XT is going to hit in a lot of stuff I play or even lower.
