I thought only old farts like me (40+) still used arcade-style joysticks. Hitboxes and regular controllers, along with simplified "modern" controls are all the rage these days because somehow, manual dexterity degraded in the human race in the past 33 years since SF2 came out...

What more do you expect? The jeopardy of the last quarter in your pocket made us masters of the art of skilful dodge in Asteroids, Gyruss but these used to $60. I still have my Neo Geo stick and that works great playing Games on my retro drive.

rather than dexterity, i think its more response / travel delay/time
the travel needed is much slower with joysticks vs button press

tokido (pro-sf player) have nice video comparing between controllers

(turn-on caption for english sub)

while in the end its matter player preference at most, like matchabo have high accuracy+ fastest with arcade-joystick that even better than controller&hitbox user

still hitbox/lever-less seems proved to have much lower delay compared to arcarde-joystick for most people
