Alphacool presents the ES 1 1U. This cooler was specially designed for the requirements of server cooling and is based on the proven technology of the Core 1. Alphacool combines the best of two worlds with the ES 1 1U. The innovative 3D jetplate in combination with the proven cross-slot technology ensures that the coolant is distributed evenly across the cooler base. Inside the cooler, an O-ring ensures a precise flow of water and thus guarantees reliable cooling.

The cooler has a particularly compact design. With side connections and a flat profile, the ES 1 1U can be easily installed in small systems with limited space, including 1U server casings. The new mounting system and use of acetal for the housing reduce both assembly effort and costs for large-scale production. The ES 1 1U is now available in the Alphacool online store.

Features:
  • Dimensions (L x W x H): 70.00 x 70.00 x 26.00 mm
  • Housing material: acetal
  • Cooler material: nickel-plated copper
  • Threads: 2x G1/4"
  • Fin thickness/spacing: 0.4/0.4 mm
  • Maximum operating temperature: 60 °C
Compatibility:
  • Intel: LGA 1700
  • AMD: AM4, AM5
ES 1 1U UVP/MSRP: €119.98

How so. On 3 sides there are heatsinks and DDR5 slots. Even on one side it would be a tight fit. 1U specific MB might help but what's the use of going in one side and out the other, it might save you using angle fittings I guess.

Understanding is three edge sword - says my inner Kosh.:)

It's in the name - this is block designed solely for 1U server enclosures. There is no space for top ports in a 1U server chassis. Standard 19" rack 1U enclosure has height of only 1.75" (44.45mm). Typical rotary 90 degree fitting is 28-30mm + thickness of the block+ motherboard + standoffs and you're outside the case by good 20mm.

Kind of weird they show normal board as mounting example.

Maybe just to show how thin it is?

It is a nice looking block though

Because the block is not for server boards...

They have a proper older product too... Design like this is ideal for cramped builds.
