ORICO, an industry-leading brand in data storage solutions, is proud to announce the launch of Data Matrix. It's the world's first hybrid storage for revolutionizing instant post-production workflow. With its sleek, Apple-inspired design, it is set to attract content creators, filmmakers and professionals alike, who require high-performance storage solutions to manage 4K/8K content efficiently. Traditional storage solutions often suffer from frequent downtime, slow speeds, and limited space, failing to meet the urgent needs of modern content creators. In cooperation with West Digital (WD), ORICO has designed the Data Matrix to provide a one-stop, cost-efficient production service that balances high speed, large capacity, and strong flexibility. Also, address the concerns about high investment in every 256 GB upgrade for Mac users.

CFexpress Type-B slot delivers an impressive 1500 MB/s import speed during pre-production, reducing the Mac import time by 95%. The 312 MB/s SD V4.0 card reader supports UHS-II 4K video capture. After filming, Digital Imaging Technicians (DIT) can import the camera source files into Data Matrix, transcode videos, save and start 8K 3D video editing instantly. On-site personnel can immediately output the footage from the Data Matrix to a large screen via HDMI (8K @ 30 Hz) for detailed viewing and confirmation, resulting in clearer image quality. The team can also perform initial edits on-site using Thunderbolt 4/3/USB4 significantly reducing the post-production team's workload.

Up to 112 TB SSD+WD Red HDDs Hybrid Storage
Data Matrix provides Hot and Cold Data Processing Zones. In the Hot Data Processing Zone, Data Matrix offers a 2 TB M.2 SSD (with speed up to 3000 MB/s) for post-production editing, rendering, code compiling, 3D interaction, AI training, and program loading, eliminating the need to copy files onto your computer.

Customized WD Red HDDs give a Data Backup and Access Zone. It provides lossless longer-term backups, specially tailored for high frame rate video projects and environments requiring high data completeness.

Daisy-Chain up to 5 Devices, Scale up to 560 TB
Data Matrix offers various capacities ranging from 5 TB to 112 TB and complete expansions, meeting different needs of video projects. It supports daisy-chaining up to 5 devices. Maximum capacity of 560 TB and fivefold interfaces upgrade an enterprise-grade experience, or keep the space available for the next project.

All-Round Data Security
  • Hardware-level RAID stacking supports RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 10, JBOD and Normal. Ensure data reliability- flexible backup, redundancy and error recovery control.
  • CMR technology enables lower failure and easier data recovery.
  • Backed by world-class WD Red RAID tech, 24/7 smooth operation delights many enthusiasts busy with day-long tasks
Whisper-Quiet Operation
A distraction-free environment is crucial for maximizing creator's focus, especially in nighttime creation. WD Red and large cooling fan is designed with power-saving low RPM. Even with so much incredible power, it is able to stay whisper quiet, energy-saving and high-performance.

Data Matrix comes with Elite, Pro and Ultra. Check the technical specifications as follows.

It been on kickstarter for a month now, prices are absurd(even with those discounts) for capacities offered. I like the feature set esp with CFx-B card reader and hub capabilities, would love to see empty enclosure offered so users can add their own storage.

Hm, does the "Cold Data Backup" need to be "7x24H running"? Actually, a real innovation would be a hardware switch that disconnects the HDDs, so no ransomware in the world could put them back online.
