I wish Intel would be able to compete in the high-end segment as to make that segment cheaper but this is better than nothing.
Why? There is no money to be made there.

According to the rumors - Battlemage is topping out at around 4070ti gaming performance.

Looking at the TPU GPU database - that is 4k performance, averaging over 90fps.

Last time I checked, that and below is about 95% of the market.

I am just wondering if you're using superlatives like "extremely overvalued" for a company like AMD what's left for the rest of them ? Ultra giga hyper overvalued ?
well companies like apple microsoft google have serious sustainable income streams from their appstore, o365 and azure advertising...
they have OK P/E ratios (price to earning) for every dollar they make their market cap is that much bigger
it's said that anything below 50 is in a normal economic climate Good, over 50 would be over valued.
in recessions that number would be lower.

AMD's P/E as of last week was 161
Nvidia 60
intel 20 (after last weeks correction)
microsoft 34
google 31
apple 33
facebook 45
Tesla 56

so Nvidia & tesla would be over valued.
and AMD is extremely over valued.

but sure, there are companies that are trading even higher than what they earn, and I honestly don't know what i would call companies that have +1000 ratio's

Business is business. It is very possible that Intel cancels its entire GPU efforts as they cut cost which means no Battlemage. You cannot dismiss current events because they are not convenient. Real people are behind these real business decisions. As they lose cash quarter over quarter, Intel will be faced with some hard decisions.

As long as we’re making up stories, it’s very possible that AMD cancels its entire GPU efforts.

The financial troubles Intel are having is anything but made up lol.
If the best Intel can come up with is a 12GB card, then its not enough and it would make no sense as a business decision to continue with dedicated graphics.

We do need more competition in the GPU market. I just wish it would be from someone other than Intel. Given the latest track record, any moves on behalf of Intel will be a wasted effort.
That's what people used to say about AMD and their Bulldozers... now you have Zen.

You're looking at it the wrong way around. Margins are much fatter in those top 5% so odds are very good that Jensen will sell 10 5090s and earn more money than Intel selling 50 of their middle-end battlemages. It's all the money in the world in those top 5%.
That said, I wish Intel all the best and depending on pricing I might get one of those cards to see how they improved. Maybe one day they'll compete at the top too.
