At Xbox, our vision is to bring more games to more players across a wide variety of devices. It's a great time to play Xbox games, many of which will be available on day one for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass for Console members. Starting in September, we're kicking things off with Age of Mythology: Retold, followed by an epic lineup of games in October including Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and the Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred expansion. Plus, we're excited for players to experience other great games including Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl later this year.

Beginning later today, players will be able to pre-order the Xbox Series S - 1 TB in Robot White, Xbox Series X - 1 TB Digital Edition in Robot White, and Xbox Series X - 2 TB Galaxy Black Special Edition. For many players, we know our consoles are the preferred choice to play the incredible titles available on Xbox. I'm excited to share that the three new Xbox Series X|S console options, announced earlier this year at the Xbox Games Showcase 2024, will release on October 15, with select countries following on October 29.

These console options will be available in all current Xbox hardware supported regions and markets including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Colombia, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Kingdom, and United States with the exception of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, India, Israel, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Turkey, and UAE, and console availability will vary by country. Visit xbox.com/consoles, microsoft.com and check with your local retailers for more details.

With Xbox, you can enjoy your favorite games across a variety of devices. Whether you choose to play on your Xbox console, PC, handheld like Lenovo Legion Go or Asus ROG Ally, or Samsung TV or Amazon Fire TV devices, you can access your games with ease and convenience. Players can visit Xbox.com/regions to see how to play with Xbox in their area.

With an exciting lineup of new games launching this year, there is no better time to jump in with Xbox.

Why would the digital version of the X only have 1 TB, while the disc version have 2 TB? Isn't this backwards?

I do own a Series X; unless they have updated these in some meaningful way, why make an additional 3 SKUs??

And yes, why have the disc version be 2TB and the digital only 1TB??

The 2TB SX will actually sell because of the sheer brute commitment that is needed to completely take it apart just to find the m.2 PCI-e 4.0 x2 drive inside with a seeecrit bootloader that needs to be cloned, because it marries it to the board. Ridiculous.
I have the 1TB SX and honestly I play mostly games from the XBONE era, that fortunately fit in a 8TB SSD and work wonderfully well though USB 3.2.
Haven't fell for the external SSD lure yet.

Why would the digital version of the X only have 1 TB, while the disc version have 2 TB? Isn't this backwards?
Because it is guaranteed (for MS) that you'll get the expansion SSDs at a later time.

For the same reason you had many special versions of the One. Collectors, and the Joe Average will buy it not knowing better.
As for the 1TB vs. the 2TB, see above.

Aren't we supposed to be able to get more for our money the longer a console is out? $599 for the 2TB version is ridiculous. Shame on M$.
