Welcome to another week of September and more new game releases. This week, we have a massive AAA release, well, at least for those that are into hammers of war and marines in space. For those that are not, we still have a busy week of new releases that starts with a very different take on what a car is, a new version of an Atari classic, an RPG farming sim, a normal take on what a car is and finally some eldritch horrors, because it's Friday the 13th.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 / This week's AAA release / Monday 9 September
Embody the superhuman skill and brutality of a Space Marine. Unleash deadly abilities and devastating weaponry to obliterate the relentless Tyranid swarms. Defend the Imperium in spectacular third-person action in solo or multiplayer modes. Steam Link

What the car? / Monday 9 September
You're a car with legs! Race through hundreds of unique levels: jump, fly with jetpacks, climb tall buildings, deliver packages, and do pretty much everything you can't do in a normal racing game. Steam Link

Yars Rising / Tuesday 10 September
From the renowned development studio WayForward Technologies, Inc. (Shantae, River City Girls, Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp) comes Yars Rising, a 2D action adventure exploration of one of Atari's richest, and best known classic titles. Steam Link

Mirthwood / Wednesday 11 September
Embark on an enchanting journey and brave ferocious creatures in an immersive medieval fantasy world. Will you settle a new homestead to live a life of farming and trade, or pick up the sword and take up the adventurers' path? Steam Link

Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown / Thursday 12 September
TDUSC is a lifestyle and social experience that redefines what an open-world racing game can be. Explore a fully recreated Hong Kong Island. Take to the road behind the wheel of exceptional cars and live the ultimate life of luxury. Steam Link

Edge of Sanity / Friday 13 September
Set in the unforgiving lands of Alaska, Edge of Sanity is a Cthulhu-inspired, 2D survival horror game. Uncover a disturbing story while madness claws at your mind. Lead a group of survivors and explore, scavenge and survive together - against untold eldritch horrors. Steam Link

I remember when Space Marine came out. Back then I had Athlon II 240 CPU. Crappy little dual core running at 2.8GHz and locked multiplier. I managed to OC it to 3,7GHz by raising BCLK and using crappy stock cooler. I tested stability by playing Space Marine. I was so proud of myself. :D

I'm not sure if it counts since it's been on early access for a while but one big release this week is Satisfactory 1.0

I got Space Marine 2, but I won't be able to try it for another week because I'm currently away on a holiday. Can't wait, though. :)

Two titles caught my attention in this week's lineup.

Yars Rising appears to be a cool 2.5D metroidvania with a pleasing 80s anime aesthetic. I love classic 16-bit platformers, so this one is probably for me.

Mirthwood looks great with its painterly palette of colors and a sandboxy approach. I'm all for player's choice, and will check out the demo.

I would've voted Space Marine II, but the issue is it doesn't have an FOV slider

New TDU is finally here  it's been a rocky start to the early access by the sounds of it, & I'm not sure they've captured the TDU magic, but I'm willing to give them some time. If it runs ok on my Legion Go then I'll definitely get it, but that is probably quite unlikely sadly.

A rocky start? More like boulders! I can happily say now Forza isn't the most broken racing game, lol.

I was just reading some Steam reviews, perhaps boulders is more accurate so far! Let's hope they stick with it & fix the connectivity issues, though after I've just found out that you can't even do singleplayer races offline, or pause the game at all because it's always on. Connectivity issues are exceptionally bad if you can't even complete longer races because you lose all your progress if the server goes wrong.

That, unfortunately, makes it a no-go for me because of my crappy English Midlands internet connection. I'd be interested if there was a chance to play offline, but a purely online experience is bleh (it's not 2004 anyway).

As far as I can see on Steam, Mirthwood releases the 6th of November. Are you talking about the demo?
