Edimax announces the launch of the D4G-7459AC Industrial 4G LTE AC1200 Wi-Fi router, designed to provide robust connectivity in the most challenging environments. Capable of operating in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 70°C, this router offers a reliable alternative to fixed broadband, ensuring continuous internet access in areas where traditional connections are not feasible. By simply inserting a SIM card, businesses can instantly connect to the 4G LTE network, offering a vital link for industries that demand round-the-clock performance.

The D4G-7459AC is built with industrial users in mind, featuring a rugged design suitable for harsh conditions and a flexible installation process. Its inclusion of the EC25 solution (Qualcomm MDM9207) underscores its commitment to reliability, delivering steady performance for critical applications. With high-speed wireless and wired internet capabilities, this router serves a broad spectrum of industries, including smart factories, mobile units, and areas needing rapid, temporary connectivity solutions.

One of the standout features of the D4G-7459AC is its ability to maintain a stable network connection through automatic failover between 4G LTE and wired Ethernet. This is further supported by dual-DC power inputs, offering redundancy to keep operations running smoothly even during power interruptions. This dual failover mechanism is essential for industries where constant communication is crucial, such as emergency services and remote monitoring.

Designed for ease of use, the D4G-7459AC offers flexible installation options, including wall-mounted, DIN-Rail, or desktop setups. Its plug-and-play functionality ensures quick deployment, making it suitable for both permanent installations and temporary setups that require reliable connectivity without the need for extensive network infrastructure.

In addition to its robust hardware, the D4G-7459AC comes equipped with advanced network management tools. Users can access features such as Blacklist/Whitelist, VPN Client support, Guest Wi-Fi Isolation, and Network Diagnostics, allowing for tailored network control and optimization. This ensures secure and efficient network operations, particularly important in environments handling sensitive data or requiring high levels of network customization.

With the introduction of the D4G-7459AC, Edimax continues its commitment to providing innovative solutions for industrial connectivity. The router addresses the growing need for reliable, flexible internet access in extreme and demanding environments, offering businesses a dependable solution that adapts to their unique operational requirements.

Unless service providers are about to turn off 4G. No its not late at all. This is also for industrial use so 5G might be the lowest on the list of priorities. Top priority being that they have strong and stable connection.

Also depending what part of the world youre from. Some countries dont have good 5G coverage so 4G is the best option.

It's an industrial IoT modem, so no - not too late at all.
Heck, even consumer 4G modems aren't out of question for lots of people.
5G isn't everywhere yet, and some countries don't even consider it at all.
Even here in Ukraine before war we had an ongoing thing with 5G spectrum, where the govt. didn't want to run an auction for related frequencies 'cause 4G wasn't at its full potential yet. And with advances in 4G carrier aggregation it seemed like we can skip 5G altogether. Vodafone did a tech demo a few years back with basically gigabit speeds on 4G network. It's only available in Kyiv and few other cities as 4G+ or 4.5G depending on operator, and definitely is a blast to use (if it works). Rural areas heavily rely on LTE900 in most cases as well, so 4G ain't going anywhere any time soon.

5G modems still cost considerably more than 4G Cat.4, 6 or 12. For many applications, Cat. 6 is enough and for industrial scenarios, better coverage > higher peak speeds, since 4G is more wide-spread than 5G, atm.
