I'm not sure if it'S that smart to give away a duplicate game. You need a processor which gives you the same game basically.

Some may buy a mainboard, MPG X870E CARBON WIFI, which costs like two Ryzen 7600 processors. (Preorder)

It seems AMD also gives away Awakening and Spacemarine with certain products.

details please check here yourself

Just for information: ASUS, another mainboard brand, had also some sort of cashback last time I checked.

My favourite shop in germany has the MPG X870E CARBON WIFI for 450€ without shipping and preorder status as of now.

Thing with this is you already bought a 7000 GPU or 7000 CPU (not all) you already have a key for this Game. MSI (for me) are not even trying by offering a key to a Game you already have. If you use this to build a new system you won't get 2 keys. Instead you will get one or the PC will tell you that the Game has already been detected. I guess it's true though that something has to be done. AMD users do not want a further sacrifice of PCie and no x8 (I bet the Godlike has it) on the 2nd slot is not trying. Only the Taichi has that in X870E, even the Carbon is an illusion with the 2nd slot actually wired at x4. Of course I am only talking about the top end AMD boards. When I say top end I don't mean $1000 (Apex, Hero) and the Strix is worse than the X670E in that regard too. I guess that is the other side of the equation. X670E boards are already that good. USB 4 is not something I appreciate on Desktop enough to give up PCIe. Adding ports to the rear I/O to sacrifice that should be reserved for lower boards. As an example the Godlike has 7 USB C ports on the rear I/O. There have to be boards coming for X3D too so I expect to see further AM5 MB releases like B850 and many more ITX and M-ATX offerings. Maybe that will move it. People in that range are used to having 1 PCIe slot connected to the CPU.

I've never really seen game bundles as an incentive to but hardware. I guess if I had my eyes on specific kit, the game would be a bonus.

Unfortunately, I've read a review of the game which mentioned it being a generic clone of other similar crevice creepers (you know the slide through gap between rocks mechanic). Another Tomb Raider meets Uncharted without the legacy charm. Apparently, it's also clumsy and glitchy.

So the offer ends in early november and includes a Vaporware
Is that why only 116 players owned it on Steam??
It basically just launched, and it looks like that AMD hasn't given out their giveaway keys yet, which is done via Steam API, so people can't re-sell them. I'm still waiting for mine to be added to my Steam account. However, looking at the reviews so far, it seems that it's even a worse giveaway game than Redfall, which Nvidia bundled with some 4080/4090s last year.

It probably helps to push people towards a certain SKU or brand if they are in the market. For example, I was looking for a descent (ETA Gold or higher) discounted 700W - 850W PSU for a retro build for some months now, in the end I bought a 1000W MSI unit during a flash sale that came with the Star Wars game and was much cheaper than most 850W ones I had on my list. :p So I guess it works.

Gigabyte offers Steam cash for some boards at the moment, and many stores in Germany also offer the AMD game bundle for 9000 series CPUs for a while now.

MSI is just hilarious considering that they basically can't get an exclusive marketing offer, but compete against both popular AMD and Nvidia giveaways, which pretty much nullifies the whole idea behind that incentive. :banghead:

Not talking about the game but the board X870e Godlike which no where to be seen(even product page is incomplete place holder).

I didn't notice that board was still missing in action. It sadly has the wrong socket for me to be interested in at that price. I guess we have to wait for the Intel Z890 boards arriving first, since the Intel Godlike seems delayed as well.

I bought a 7600 so I could get Company of Heroes 3. I love these incentives when it is a Game that you will actually play. Just like Sarajel said just find the cheapest way to get in. I don't understand why they did not put Star Wars as the carrot. You might have thought it was exclusive with Nvidia but they put it on things like Cases too.

We have seen it in one of the MSI Gaming Live streams. It is real but you know it will be limited.

How does AMD manage to always pick the worst games for their marketing/giveaways.
Spacemarine 2 and COH3 are not bad Games.

I totally agree.

I've never really seen game bundles as an incentive to but hardware. I guess if I had my eyes on specific kit, the game would be a bonus.

I was interested in the game mechanics.

-- See below my comments on three AMD giveaway games from year 2023 (i think)

I got Star WARS Jedi Survivor for free with the processor and mainboard bundle in may 2023. It was a Ryzen 7600X + ASUS Prime X670-P Mainboard for around 400€ including shipping.
EA Launcher is annoying to be friendly with EA. I'm not in the Star WARS franchise.
A lot of game play so far was like in a long tunnel. Do only this to get to the next area. Boring like hell. (which repeats for other games also)
Raytracing which only needs 80 Watt more for nearly no optical gain. I personally do not see any difference playing with or without raytracing.
The game end is suddenly and does not make any sense. The last minutes of the game looks like very hasty made.

--

I got The last of Us Part 1 with the MSI RAdeon 6800 Z Trio.
The crafting system is boring. I could not go back to the previous stage to collect loot. Sometimes the loot was overflowing.

A big negative point - that "game" needs steam.

--

I got Avatar, Frontiers of Pandora ... for free with my Powercolor 7800XT Hellhound Graphic card.
I'm stuck somewhere in between and I stopped playing it.
The game only lives from the mediocre graphics.

I dislike the Ubisoft Launcher and the Ubisoft support. I had issues redeeming the game.
Boring NPC - buggy online quests (quests do not show up or can not be finsihed)
A bases could not be entered early for some reason.
