The lack of I/O Panel Cover is more an issue.
A single 2.5 GBps Ethernet is not really future proof or high end.

Probably just includes one in the box, old school. Not that ive used one in awhile.....
A single 2.5 GBps Ethernet is not really future proof or high end.
Most boards still use 1 Gbps, and most home networks are still 1Gbps. Most people do not have 1Gbps internet, and those that do, very few can go past 1 Gbps service. So, by definition, it is future proof and high end.

10gbps copper is a dead end that nobody likes, the future of multi gig is SFP+

Yes, but then usually with a powerlimit up to 95W or using components that are throwing out less heat. This seems like it needs cooling... and just doesnt povide it after half length.

People overestimate how much they need all the time. Back in the day you used to run athlon 64s with 95 watt TDPs with 4 phase VRMs, no cooling, way lower quality then modern VRMs.

Yeah, sure, the biostar board isnt going to be a good LN2 candidate, but its gonna handle a 155w TDP 285k without issue, and if heat IS a problem, you can still buy VRM heatsinks for pennies.

Yeah, sure, the biostar board isnt going to be a good LN2 candidate, but its gonna handle a 155w TDP 285k without issue, and if heat IS a problem, you can still buy VRM heatsinks for pennies.

VRM heatsinks started to be all about style over function back in the socket 939 days with ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe board. That was all bling and didn't work as well and was also the moment Corsair introduced multi colored LEDs on RAM with ye old DDR1. It got completely out of hand when the first ROG boards hit.

When you look at workstation boards for machines that consume gobs of power the heatsinks are vastly more minimal and functional.
