Q1-2025 promises to be an action-packed quarter for graphics cards, with NVIDIA introducing the bulk of its next-generation GeForce RTX 50-series "Blackwell" GPUs. The company is expected to start things off with the two enthusiast-segment SKUs, the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080, in January, followed by the RTX 5070-series in February, and rounded off nicely with the RTX 5060-series in March. This would mean hundreds of individual new graphics card SKUs from NVIDIA's board partners, which are reportedly busy winding up the final inventory deliveries of their RTX 40-series "Ada" products, and transferring this production capacity to the RTX 50-series. So, when the RTX 50-series GPU models do come out across the quarter, there's plenty of inventory to go around. Board Channels reports that on NVIDIA's end, production of nearly every AD100-series silicon has ended, except the AD107, which will continue selling for entry-mainstream GeForce RTX 40-series SKUs. The AD106 production line has stopped, as has the AD103, AD104, and AD102.

The 5080 will be a fun one to watch. If it's $1000-1200 and is anywhere close tot he 4090 in performance the thing is gonna fly off shelves. Fun times : )

It will feel like it. They'll literally not be able to make enough of them to satisfy demand.

Well, ya'll can calm down already about the prices or being able to get any of these new cards, cause back when they were announced, I had my AI Buyer-bot thingy place huge advance orders for ALL of them, everywhere, all at once....

Please contact me mid-late '25 and if I have any left, I might consider selling you ONE, hahahaha :D

I think I will wait for the SUPER variants before I upgrade my 7900 XT, really no reason to upgrade at all, but eh I kind of do want DLSS and proper frame gen for those games that do benefit from the Nvidia cards. Plus, I would like to have a dedicated Linux Mint desktop setup, so my 7900xt can be for that.

Well, Crypto markets are skyrocketing, just glad ETH isn't mineable anymore otherwise we would have had another shortage. I plan on getting a 5000 series card, first one that has 16GB VRAM, probably the RTX5070Ti, hopefully, reasonably priced with good performance uplift without gimmicks.

Don't worry, the AI bubble will gobble all them up before any scalpers even get the chance

yeah one of my best friends irl keeps saying he is getting a 5090 on launch day, I already told him he won't have one in hand for at least 10 months post launch day, people are underestimating very heavily the demand for TOTL cards

Wouldn’t be all that surprising if the trump will be looking to tax bitcoin or something to its detriment when he notices all the worlds money is in crypto while the economy is stuck in a rut and is pressured into doing something dumb again.

so,don’t put all, your eggs in that basket. I also doubt gpu mining is still a much of a thing.
so yeah scalpers will try making a quick buck the first couple of weeks and notice nvidia won’t be allowing them,to make much of a profit on their little scheme.

Only because of scalpers. An inteligent individual will never buy a raw 5080 card which is barely faster than the 4090. He would wait for the 5080 Ti or Super, or whatever, since the specs and performance gap between the 5080 and 5090 is ridiculously huge.
This 5080 has specs better suited for a 5070 card. And if the real 5070 will not surpass the 4090, like almost every generation did, well, you'll have your answer ;)

bold of you to assume the tariffs won't be in place when those launch, increasing price 40%, I don't think the incoming administration is going to be sympathetic to gamers this time around.

As if they couldn't get any higher. they're just waiting for the tariffs excuse to increase pricing to maintain their higher margins
