Razer, the leading global lifestyle brand for gamers, further expands its line-up and affirms its foothold in PC accessories with the announcement of the new Razer USB 4 Dock. Engineered for superior performance, this dock represents a leap into the future of connectivity, combining high-speed data transfer and dual-display functionality to meet the demands of high-stakes gaming and intensive productivity.

"With the Razer USB 4 Dock, we're unleashing the next level of high-performance docking," Travis Furst, Head of Notebooks and Accessories at Razer. "This powerhouse is engineered to deliver blazing-fast data transfer and stunning dual-monitor 4K display output, all through a single cable solution to the laptop, making it the ultimate tool for gamers and professionals alike."

USB4 - Defining Ultra-Fast Connectivity
The Razer USB 4 Dock is built with the latest USB4 standard, offering transfer speeds of up to 40 Gb/s—eight times the capability of previous USB 3.0 standards. This monumental increase ensures that devices such as mice, keyboards, headsets, and streaming equipment operate at peak performance without bottlenecks. Additionally, the dock's upstream USB-C port supports up to 100 W power delivery, enabling connected laptops to remain charged during critical gaming or intensive productivity sessions.

14-in-1 Ports - Expand Command Centers
Adapting to the dynamic tech landscape, the Razer USB 4 dock comes equipped with a comprehensive array of connections, including HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, USB A, USB C, and even supports varying sizes of SD cards. In true gaming nature, the USB 4 Dock also includes a dedicated 2.4Ghz port reduces any wireless interference, enhancing the reliability of connected gaming peripherals. A unique feature of the dock is its independent power button, which allows for the charging of devices without a PC connection, all managed via a single cable for a streamlined setup.

Dual-Monitor Support with up to 4K 120 Hz Display Output
In the realm of competitive gaming, speed is critical. The Razer USB 4 Dock supports a fast 4K 120 Hz display output for one monitor, while still being capable of handling a second 4K monitors at 60 Hz, ensuring fluid, high-resolution gameplay and the ability to maintain an additional display for critical applications. Available in Black or Mercury White, the Razer USB 4 Dock transforms any setup into a high-performance gaming and productivity station, without the traditional limitations of using a dock.

The Razer USB 4 Dock creates a clean environment to power all peripherals and your laptop with a single cable. It epitomizes the fusion of high-speed connectivity with robust functionality with a solid aluminium chassis, setting a new benchmark for gaming and productivity solutions and solidifying Razer's role as a leader in innovative technology for gamers and professionals alike.

Price & Availability
Razer USB 4 Dock £229.99 GBP / $229.99 USD / €249.99 MSRP Razer.com, RazerStores & Authorized Resellers - Available Now, 14 November 2024

given they say nothing on the ethernet, means it is 1Ge? If so, that's a huge disappointment... especially at this price point.

edit: confirmed:
  • Gigabit Ethernet: 1x 1 Gigabit Ethernet (1000Mbps, 100Mbps, 10Mbps)

Aesthetically pleasing, yes...

pricing...not so much....

And given that it's made by da Razzero, it will probably fail about 1 week AFTER the warranty runs out, if it even lasts that long :(

Benchmark Scores I dont have time for that.
I am just sitting quietly. I think this is actually reasonable. I have tried every dock under the sun for work over the years and I burn through them like crazy. They either actually break or end up exhibiting some strange issues. I am totally of the opinion if it isn’t above $200usd it’s basically garbage. I think my two Dell docks that I settled on over the years and that actually function cost me about $300 a piece. If this one works just as well and offers the same as far as connectivity I’d say that’s a deal.

My company gave me a $200 HP dock for my triple-monitor, multi-peripheral work set-up, and it is & has been super reliable, has all ports marked with names/speeds etc and although a bit larger than this one, I would NOT trade it for anything else, so therefore Razzero can just KMA :)

This probably still uses the Intel Goshen Ridge chipset (JHL8440). If this was JHL9540 (and also had at least 2.5Gbps ethernet) I can justify the price.

Just this makes me disappointed in this...
It should be able to drive itself with 60 or 100W PD from the host computer.
They should work on reducing the cable clutter around you.

Don't think they got the color right either HA!, Going to look like a sore thumb in some cases more so with other razer products ?.

Anyways fail no RGB HA, would of been cool if some one added the right color of led for each port :p.

If you don't need 4K/120Hz then there are plenty of HDMI 2.0 variants for like $30.

Do you know what chipset is being used in this? Razer doesn’t list the exact specific parts on their site unfortunately.

Looking at the specs of the VL832, Razer should've used at least one 2.5 Gbps ethernet port along with their 4K120 DP. The chipset seems to be quite capable for a USB4 endpoint controller. With the way Razer has it configured, IMO this should only be worth at most $150.

Are there other USB4 docks that use this same chipset yet?

Most of them I would say, assuming they don't also do Thunderbolt.
This guy has a review of a bunch of them, but he hasn't updated his site this year, not sure why.
He also has a list of most of them, as of January this year.
