What would a faster ethernet port do for you unless/until you have internet service that is faster then 1GbE ??? Especially since it lacks a 2nd port that could be used for 2.5GbE internal LAN....

But anyways, this box looks nice, but I don't think it is worth the $350 asking price...

cuz many home networks are now built as 2.5Ge already? and you may be talking about the US internet, in EU you can get 5-8Gbit fiber for less than $100/mo.

I had hard time finding a decent dock with 2.5Ge, so that I don't need to use a dedicated usb-c card instead.

Yes, the sad truth is that, with a few exceptions, here in the US, internet service speeds basically suk wallah in most areas, or even if faster than 1GbE is available, it's pretty expensive, way more so than in the EU or other locals...hence my comment about the faster ports being of no or little use to us ATM

OTOH, some ISP's are starting to recognize that fiber is the future, and have started replacing their copper networks, but it's a slow, painful process and will require several more years of digging and installing the necessary hardware, then converting the equipment at home to complete the transition....and of course, all that work is expensive, the costs of which will be quickly passed onto the consumers... so much for the "Broadband for Everyone" act

... which is why I usually favor thunderbolt hubs over docking stations as a matter of principle: I simply don't want to pay for obsolete peripherals. Hub + Dongles is the way to go.
