We here at Naughty Dog are thrilled to finally announce that The Last of Us Part II Remastered will be available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on April 3, 2025. Originally released for the PlayStation 5 console earlier this year, Part II Remastered allows players to continue the acclaimed story of The Last of Us with a definitive version featuring the award-winning campaign, new modes, improved quality, and more. But before we dive into how that experience is making the jump to PC be sure to watch our announcement trailer below.

The Last of Us Part II Remastered is designed to let players who have never experienced this story to do so in the best way possible, while also offering those replaying the story to deepen their appreciation for its creation, mechanics, and all the incredible work done by our team at Naughty Dog.

"We're all thrilled to bring The Last of Us Part II to the PC audience, including all the great new features we added in the Remastered version for PS5," The Last of Us Part II Remastered Game Director Matthew Gallant said. "We hope players enjoy the captivating story, rich combat mechanics, extensive behind-the-scenes commentary, and test their skills in the roguelike mode No Return. We're working hard to ensure that the game feels great on this new platform, and has the high performance and robust features that PC players expect."

Part II Remastered for PC, made along with our development partners at Nixxes Software and Iron Galaxy Studios, features the award-winning campaign focused on Ellie and Abby's thrilling journeys, and brings with it all the new features the PS5 version introduced. That includes our thrilling and fan-favorite No Return roguelike mode, a series of levels left on the cutting room floor featuring developer commentary called the Lost Levels, a Guitar Free Play mode, and more. You can read about these in our original deep dive about Part II Remastered features to learn more, but we can't wait for a whole new set of players to experience these offerings.

We're also proud to confirm Part II Remastered will be newly optimized and enhanced for PC. The teams at Nixxes and Iron Galaxy have been hard at work in concert with Naughty Dog to ensure The Last of Us Part II Remastered is a thrill for PC players from the jump. We'll be delving further into the PC-specific features and specs as we get closer to launch.

"We are honored and excited to be working closely together with Naughty Dog and Iron Galaxy on bringing The Last of Us Part II Remastered to PC. Our highly skilled and motivated team is working hard to make sure players have a great experience on PC. We're combining our experience, in-house technology, and passion for this game series to deliver a scalable and high-performance port that players expect from us," Coen Frauenfelder, PC Product Director at Nixxes, said.

That's still nothing when compared to GTA V.

Feels hella stupid that games this new are already remastered.

I need new GPU for this, the Part I keeps giving me black texture (sign of low VRAM) I just hope with B580 release nvidia and AMD put a decent amount of VRAM on midrange GPU.

Ppl keep buying them for some reason....
I hate them because of it. Now there isn't any new GTA that I'm looking forward to. They just milk the online content. I don't even looking forward to 6.

I doubt this is going to be worth it in my book. Mostly because the game is not old enough to deserve a remaster, and lately a lot of remasters are just upscaling the game on a new console and barely show any improvement. I am getting tired of it because companies are getting lazy about making new games (Cough cough Rockstar, Cough Cough Bethesda).

Great to see Nixxes being involved in this port! Sounds like Naughty Dog are actively taking steps to avoid another Part 1 launch disaster.

Sony's always released the games on both platforms, though. What does concern me is their recent decision to enforce PlayStation Network account on PC, with heavy geographical restrictions. Not that it affects me, we have PSN here in Brazil, and this game isn't my cup of tea/I wouldn't purchase it anyway, but it is a terrible move as it's effectively another layer of DRM tacked on the software, IMO.
