Didn't Sansui become an owned brand of Dixons (UK) back in the late 80s maybe 90s. Until then they were a Japo brand sort of an a par with Aiwa? I do know China is hoovering up every obsolete brand possible. They even make BMWs now!!

Looks like the brand is now owned by: Apparently they also sell some RCA branded products.

The brand owner is hoping that enough people will misread SANSUI as SAMSUNG. That's also the reason they aren't using the classical Sansui logo.

So Dixon's went kaput years ago and they (China) did indeed hoover up the name. The logo is very similar, but I remember it (the "S") being framed in a single greeny/ blue colour. Wasn't crap in it's day - the amps were regarded, I think. Collectable even???

There's also Sampo.
Not sure how you could misread Sansui as Samsung though...

Sansui was a Japanese company, so most likely not crap at one point. Never owned anything by them.

1.- So you've got some sensors, good, we are back to calling anything AI, god I missed CES 2024.
2.- Those two things are exactly what gamers do not want, stay in your lane and display the pretty pictures please. You also don't have a camera or sensors sophisticated enough to detect my shrimp shaped posture.

AI Video Processing: Real-time optimization for sharper visuals and smoother gameplay.
Next up in AMD's press conference: FidelityFX CAS, now powered by AI, but still effortless to run! And smoother gameplay? Come on, didn't we as a species agree that motion smoothing on TVs is bad?

Some people are scared that AI is gonna rule the world. The AI that... dims your monitor? C'mon now. :kookoo:

All those AI features you really don't want if the best user experience is your goal... And some of those features are just...

It's tragicomical, like the feature in newer cars that pester you for not using a seat belt with the most annoying sound ever made, which is getting louder with each beep (while I'm driving 20-30km/h through the suburbs on a way to the convenient store). Yes, probably because the car company cares about your health, just like government do, right. Be a good slave and fasten your seat belt, work, pay taxes and just die the first day you retire.

AI monitor... for processing video?... Did they mean the usual oversharpening which makes everything look like crap, or the "fake HDR" which makes dark scenes in movies and games look like inside of elephant's bumhole? This trend of slapping AI on everything has gotten more irritating than funny.

AI - The new Asian manufactures must have buzzword! My LG has an "AI" button, and it doesn't do a thing anyone has been able to detect...

Not gonna notice it anyway, after fake frames, and image scaling applied to the stretched 720p.

The weird thing is that feature has existed long before AI. It's called dynamic contrast (and I agree, it's annoying as heck sometimes).

As about the monitor itself. any technology, that automatically alters the image, from one the user has set up, is an instant no go, imho. Even if this are the opt in/out features.

The posture detection... if the monitor's, desk and chair position haven't been set from the beginning, no image adjustment will remove the fatique and spine deformation.

The weird thing is that feature has existed long before AI. It's called dynamic contrast (and I agree, it's annoying as heck sometimes).
But you have to agree, it sounds thousand times more $$$ if there's an "A.I." writing. These companies, now have the perfect chance to sell all the unsold useless crap, they were accumulating for years, under single "A.I." moniker.
