Is this going to be some sort of OEM-exclusive again? 7945HX3D was totally held by ASUS in that ROG Strix Scar 17 model. Not even Alienware had it paired with the forgotten RX 7900M (which for some reason had problems, most likely due to common Dell/Alienware-built quality).

19:25 UTC: Did you think "Strix Point" would be bulky? It's designed to go against the MacBook Pro.
Strix Point or Strix Halo here?

AMD: we'll wait for Nvidia to release their pricing so we can take a couple of dollars and release ours, so predictable
If that's the case, it's understandable. Disappointing, but understandable.

Well that is a bummer probably don't want to go first and look stupid I guess. I thought they would at least announce them and just not talk about pricing.

Well it's going to have to be good based on features... Pretty open secret that it won't be faster in raster than the outgoing RDNA3 cards although if it comes close to the 7900XTX while being significantly cheaper people will be pretty happy.

IhU8EifHEj2NPblM.jpg

Looks like 7900XT performance but that has been know for a while..... These boxes don't really say much though... I do find it interesting that they put the 4080 slightly above the 7900XTX....

That's awesome, but when? All this delay isn't building hype, it's raising concerns, imo.

Cause it needs ai acceleration (tensor cores on nvidia).
FSR4 will not use Tensor cores.
Since when did artificial segmentation and proprietary software equate to growing a pair?
As much as i dont like it i also have to concede that doing the same thing every time and expecting a different results will get them nowhere.
And as people have said - AMD needs exclusive features as a selling point.
Doing slightly worse version of Nvidia's features has not worked out for them. It's time to try something different.

If AMD taught me something, it is that building hype only brings pain later

I edited my comment and added their boxes as our only guide to performance lol....

It's super hard to know with AMD this is probably better than the RDNA3 presentation where they had the 7900XTX faster than the 4090 lol.... Better to just say it's good here is the price wait for reviews imho.

I think that was a miss but I'd rather have that vs pie in the sky benchmarks that aren't based on reality.... I'm sure we will get plenty of that at the Nvidia conference even though Nvidia could release a steaming pile of shite with a big N on it and people would buy it.

Where did this info come from? None of that was in the conference...
Dunno, just randomly found it on the main page.

True, though all I wanted is a time frame, and that's exactly what I didn't get.

Yeah, who needs benchmarks at this point? We all know the 5090 runs every game at 6457754 FPS anyway.

That's exactly what I meant... We know it's going to be the fastest gaming gpu ever made, we know it's going to be expensive.... But I still think Nvidia will fudge the numbers with frame gen like they did comparing 3000 and 4000 saying it was like 4x faster lmao when there is no need they still are going to outsell everyone else by a massive margin even if everything was 15% faster up and down the stack.

True, though all I wanted is a time frame, and that's exactly what I didn't get.

That definitely sucks even though this likely isn't going to be fast enough to even replace my 3080ti in my secondary pc I would have still loved to see some actual performance numbers and what makes FSR4 special and how the card is making it better.

Doing slightly worse version of Nvidia's features has not worked out for them. It's time to try something different.

Offering proprietary software features and or artificially segmenting software features, in a massively nvidia saturated market (both consumer and commercial) are not gonna win any market share; neither is it a guarantee that one implementation is better than the other.

The other problem is half the consumer market are full of zombies buying cards with features they’ll never use and or utilize because in large part ray tracing is still a scam that everyone and their mother uses to justify a purchase. Then they end up playing cs2, league, or apex at minimum settings to get as many FPS as possible and never touch ray tracing, dlss, fsr, frame gen unless all that garbage is enabled by default. I understand having options, but in large part the overwhelming majority of people buy something they’ll never use since all the software tomfoolery marketing came about.

AMD need to focus on one thing, undisputed price and performance value for the newer generation of cards. No one is going to swap for software nonsense.

Seems like it will be easy to integrate into anything FSR 3.1 is already in it will just make it better... Sounds more like intels gameplan honestly.

I knew they won't release a flagship 9090 with 64GB of GDDR8 but I at least expected them to come out with "Hey this is RX 9070XT, here are the benchmarks, here is new FSR4, here are our improvements we made to RT and overall to the architecture. We know it won't be fastest but you know what it will be? Cheap" to really come attack at the mid or high end. This just presentation just screams "We are into CPUs and AI now, sorry". Like Radeon group just exists to provide GPUs for APU and Instinct.
Shame and also prices for RTX 5000 just got even higher.
