AMD's board partners flaunted their new Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 custom models at last week's CES trade event, but no one expected to see retail units pop up anytime soon after the concluded Las Vegas showcase. Earlier today, a brave soul uploaded compelling new evidence on Team Red's subreddit—they claim that they were surprised to see the "early" delivery of Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 graphics card stock. Uploaded photos seem to show several boxed Sapphire Pulse models sitting in an Israeli computer store's stockroom. This leak has semi-ruined Sapphire's staggered Pulse-oriented marketing campaign—yesterday, a teaser image emerged via an official social media post.

Industry watcher, momomo_us, has gathered proof of GIGABYTE Radeon RX 9070 XT GAMING OC 16G and Radeon RX 9070 GAMING OC 16G model stock reaching Danish shores. According to VideoCardz, Føniks Computer's online store had at least four units available for purchase and immediate shipping (same business day). Entries for the two models have also appeared on Geizhals—this German price comparison engine lists January 24 as a market launch date. This information could be subject to change—AMD is likely still working on finalizing release window parameters. After all, recent pre-launch leaks have contained incomplete data and errors. It should be noted that NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 50 series is set to hit international markets on January 30—is Team Red planning to pre-empt this rollout?

Yeah, if stock is in stores, then the release is absolutely imminent. Otherwise the longer they wait the more likely accidental sales and spoiler leaks etc come out.

Probably waiting on the big kahuna shipments to make it to the Amazon's & Neweggs and then the launch will drop.

This also has to mean that review cards are in hand and being tested by the likes of W1z etc.

Placeholder price. The new Poco x7 phone was listed at 1300$ but retail price was 500$ when it officially released.
Yep. I've seen the 5090 listed for £25,000 and the 5070 for £7,000 at Overclockers UK.

Knowing AMD like I do I think they will test 550 usd and just let it drop if consumers are like nah dog...... With a slim chance they will try $599

When the DKK conversion to GBP came back at £1047, I was quite shocked.

100% agree. $549.99. Their biggest fans will jump at it, the restock will sit there unsold, and AMD will be clueless as to why they have no sales.

People may not like Nvidia pricing, but at least they don’t screw over their biggest fans - the early adopters - the way AMD does. Lots of people must have felt so warm and snugly after AMD cut the price of Zen5 three weeks after release.

Wait until you hear about how they haven't even made up their mind to what's the release date internally.

(shh, you didn't hear it from me)

Wouldn't be shocked if they wait till after the 5070 is reviewed. See how it's perceived and price accordingly....

550 is still not bad for a 4080 class GPU, imo. 600 would be stretching it. Sure, AMD is perceived as "the budget friendly" option, but they can't offer discounts to no end.

$550 isn't bad if the performance is there, but of course Nvidia buyers want AMD to give these cards away.
And I don't consider AMD lowering prices later on to be screwing over anyone, at least they lower prices which is great for anyone who has the patience to wait.

If one is stupid enough to be a fan of any for-profit company. Just saying... :slap:

Personally, I don't see a problem with either paying a little bit more to get your hands on stuff right away, or waiting a bit to get it at a reduced price. It's all about one's priorities.

Raise price when demand is high and lower it when demand is low is a common business tactic. Air travel companies have been doing it since times immemorial.

They better price this right, because when you make your customers anxiously waiting for too much, their expectations also get bigger.

Hopping for a repeat of the HD 4000 series. But that's wishful thinking.

Intel might grab that title is AMD continues to look at Nvidia and ignore what is in their.... rear mirror.

This is the typical in every PC component. SSDs on a new PCIe version start high, then slowly start getting cheaper, a new memory standard starts high and progressively goes down, but somehow people looking at Nvidia keeping the same prices for 2 years, consider it good. Well, there is only one category that loves stable pricing and that is the category of people that are in PC hardware as if this is a sport. Buying first the high end hardware, selling it 6 months before the new one comes out, getting ready to buy the next model. Stable pricing and a monopoly is like butter on their breads and they will defend that monopoly at any cost. Because if that monopoly fails, it will mean that they will have to sell their current hardware cheap and pay much more to buy their next hardware parts.
For 99% of rest of consumers, who only buy hardware when they need it, stable pricing and a monopoly is a cancer.

I ain't sitting on the "Intel, the saviour of the GPU business" bandwagon, either. I don't understand why the B580 is praised to no end. It's basically a less available 7600 / 4060 with more VRAM and worse drivers. Not a big deal to write home about.

So far, Intel hasn't showed me anything to make me take them seriously.

That's great insight into the "Nvidia forever" mindset. Well said!

You don’t seem to have this outlook when discussing Nvidia’s pricing. I wonder why that is.

Tbh I'm not sure if even good price can make it sell like hotcakes.
I'm selling my 7900XTX and today I learned from one of the guys that was interested in buying, that my card doesn't support RT and Indiana Jones won't start on it so future games might also not. So he can buy it but for 100$ less than what I listed because if not then he can buy used 4080 that supports RT.

Nvidia market share and even more importantly mind share has got AMD in choke hold.
They would need to go all out, make a better card for every segment basically even the halo one and not 5-10%. Simply make it so that every reviewer can have no other conclusion but to say that AMD gpus is better compared to nvidia offering.
