I place my bet on something really, really unremarkable. Not good, not bad. Just more of the same.
We already know it'll be unremarkable. Their highest end product this generation is going to be slower than the 7900XTX. You can't get more unremarkable than that. It's why they didn't bother mentioning GPU's at all during CES. The only interesting thing they have in the pipeline before UDNA is FSR 4, and I'm willing to bet it's not even close to being ready.

They are either sandbagging or think that there product is not good enough.
They're definitely waiting on something important but the stock has been ready and waiting for a while.
There must be something mission critical at play here which tells me it's an issue with software and nothing else.
I have never seen AMD so stuck on this before. They must have overshot their development schedule by a lot.

That seems like a plausible notion. We will see.

We’ve seen this before with AMD when it comes to past GPU releases. When I see them beat around the bush when it comes to providing concrete information, the outcome is generally not good. The speculation is that AMD is waiting to size up the competition, but these Blackwell GPUs are already out there, and I am sure AIBs and reviewers probably already know how it performs. I don’t believe AMD is still in the dark when it comes to their competitor’s product at this point. It just sounds to me they lack confidence that their product is competitive. I may be wrong, but it won’t be long for us to know.

What I don't understand, is why the hell all of these AIB cards are so freaking humongous if they are not "high end"

Maybe AMD wait for big Battlemage too. Yes it's looking cancelled, but...
If this is true, it just shows how insecure they are, and back again to the point that the product don’t look competitive. Unless of course, they identified show stoppers with the product, and not ready to roll it out at all. But my understanding is that working units were used to showcase FSR 4 during CES, so I am less inclined to think it’s broken at this point.

I was wondering the same thing, and the Chiphell admin guy was quoted as to saying this GPU is going to change everything or be revolutionary or something like that.

Either this is a circus show or AMD is really committed to a surprise attack.

I expect 5080 raster performance, 5070 - 5070ti RT performance at 549$ (for AIBs). Thatd be great. If FSR 4 turns out to be good as well, oh boy.

Something that randomly crossed my mind.

Radeon HD 6970: Last iteration of an architecture (Terascale) before GCN. Die size: 389mm2
RX 9070XT: Last iteration of an architecture (RDNA) before UDNA. Rumoured die size: ~389mm2

Let's compare performance!

It would be nice if the size spoke to the performance. "Disrupting the market" and all that.
If size spoke for performance, I'd be a Bugatti Veyron :D

It's no secret I prefer AMD, but if this 352mm is accurate, a 9090XT would be pushing 400mm surely? Chonky!

The case I'm looking at supports up to 359mm, so hopefully the variation between the two isn't in length.

9090XT doesn't exist lol. 9070XT will be same size as 9070 most likely.

Off topic, I recommend the Montech 903 Max Air. Room for any GPU up to 400mm, 4 140mm fans and 170mm CPU cooler clearance. Look it up

I'm sure other cards will be a fair bit shorter. I'm also sure that the Red Devil's cooling is massively overkill. :)

I hear murmurs of a 9080xt existing!

I'm going SFF for this new build, with all the trials and tribulations that entails. Waiting for the AC168 version of the Ncase m2 to drop.

That case is so small. My components would get claustrophobia! No that case is beautiful, enjoy when you get it.

The Navi 48 chip powering the 9070 XT is the top RDNA 4 chip. There is nothing bigger than that. If there is a 9080 XT coming in the future, it definitely won't be anything other than a clock speed bump.

With the components I've chose I've probably shot myself in the foot, we'll see. Seems to be a waiting game at the moment

Yea it's very sus... IDK what they are waiting for. Maybe software isn't ready, drivers or FSR, they were always a little slow in that area.

Nice. They recently restocked the Gunmetal finish on the t1 didn't they? SFF is all new to me, so I imagine it will be a while until it's up and running, or stumbling...
