AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT & 9070 Prices Leaked by Canadian Retailer

This has always been my pet peeve. Nvidia releases something, everyone goes ape***t about how terrible it is, amd releases something that's 9.9% better and suddenly its the second coming of jesus. It does not compute, something that's 9% better than something disgusting is still disgusting.
Last time I checked, 750 was 25% more than 600, not 9%.

What are you referring to?
9070 XT vs 5070 Ti. MSRP. Leaked prices may or may not be real, not to mention the US import tariff, which will 1. not apply to the rest of the world, 2. will apply to AMD and Nvidia equally.

The msrp seems to be 700$ for the xt, but that's besides the point. Considering the 5080 should have been a 5060ti, the 5070ti is what, a 5060. So we are happy that amd release a 5060 competitor for 700$. Hooray I guess

$600 (link) for the XT.

And no shoulda-woulda bollocks, please. :) The 5080 should have been a space rocket, and the 9070 should have been a coffee grinder. Total nonsense. Everything is what it is.

I'm using the arguments I've seen on the 5080 reviews. The 5080 is a 5060ti in disguise. I hope a 600$ amd card slaps the 5060ti hard.

I'm not, so I don't know why you feel like countering my arguments with other people's unrelated nonsense adds anything to the conversation.

I really REALLY hope these prices have since been revised by AMD because unless this card comes near to or equals the performance of my 7900 XTX (with somehow less VRAM) it should NOT be close to what I paid for my 7900 XTX in AUD. Bearing in mind that we normally get slugged with an "Australia Tax" on top of that which would probably make it the same price as my 7900 XTX anyway.

These prices would be far more reasonable but at this point my faith in AMD is dwindling HARD after the disastrous handling of RDNA4.

It's probably the new US import tax at play.

I'm not spending 700/800 euros on a AMD mid range gpu and if I were i could buy a used 7900 xt/xtx and have lots of money to spare. You can keep them.

Last night I saw a 7900xtx Hellhound sell for €885, used. They're like €1000 new. Even the used market is whack over here.

like i said you can find them for around 700 euros here. But there aren't many. There were plenty before everyone realised the new gpus were just a mirage. As soon as they are available the used market will bloom again

I've read that the 5080 is actually a 5060ti in disguise (so it should cost 300, maybe 400$ MAX) so im going to judge the 9070xt as a 5060ti competitor. If it loses to a disguised 5060ti - and it costs 2 times 400$, this will be a disaster.

Let's be real though there were plenty of Nvidia fans who got all hot and bothered by the worst 5080 ever from a generational performance uplift.... It is the most cut down 5080 vs the flagship ever and I expect Nvidia to make the cards under the flagship less and less relevant over time.

I don't really care what either company wants to name their $#!+ what I look at is whatever cost a similar amount of money the previous generations and look at the % uplift. So if the 9070XT is 700 I will be looking at it vs the 7900GRE/7900XT/4070ti/4070 super becuase they were all ballpark in that price range at one point.

Naming is irrelevant to me anyways they could have called the 4090 a 4060 and priced it at 1700-1800 and I still would have bought it becuase performance uplift is king and always will be at least vs the previous generation.

That's what happens when the market leader launched and all time shite generation at high prices.

I wish we had used market like that here. There's no GRE or XT available only used XTX with shady warranty for 1000 euro while new one costs 1000-1100. Magnetic Air is 1057 while 9070XT should be 950-1100. I just wish games would care about fsr just as much as dlss.

you haven't checked prices lately or else you would know you cannot get a USED RX 7900 XTX for under even $900

maybe if you turn to something like facebook or craigslist.....maybe. but certainly not on any e-tailer or ebay
My asus tuf 7900 xtx just arrived from Amazon for $810. New not used.

if you're selling me a FIAT you'd better have a insanely good price, this isn't it. And they wonder why they don't sell cards.
Agreed. However, I am going about it slightly differently.

I have re-discovered older games that run blazingly fast on my 3070ti and I am going to stick with it until I can get an AMD 9070xtx, which will most likely be release later this year.
With more recent release I have had nothing but memory errors on it due to the lack of available;e video memory. It is an 8GB card and NVIDIA NEW this would happen when they sold the cards.
So, fuck NVIDIA they can go toss themselves into gaming oblivion. They are worse than the scalpers for playing along with them. They are encouraging this mayhem in the graphics cards industry.
A little birdie told em they don't want to be in the gaming industry anymore anyways so every stopped buying NVIDIA graphics cards and let them go fully into AI which is where they make their REAL money anyways.
I was around when NVIDIA purchased the Diamond company (voodoo3dfx for anyone who wants to look em up). I remember the NVIDIA beginnings and all I am saying is their loyalty to the customers that enabled the AI research and subsequent money flow are being screwed around now by NVIDIA marketing games.

I can afford a 5090. 'Lets make that perfectly clear. This is NOT about the money.
They could well afford to put enough GPU's out there for gamers to all have a decent NVIDIA card but they do not.
Shareholders can go fuck themselves for that to.
This line of AMD graphics cards looks VERY good to me so I am switching to team red.
