Another victory from AMD get ready!
The price of the 480 is... 200 dollars.

Man.. And they say things weren't better back then.

But yeah that's exactly what was in my mind when I said 'another Raja' :D

The price is easily understood: it's what the market will bear. Nvidia is leading the way in showing that gamers don't care that price is north of 1k USD for a mid level card.

The prices aren't actually bad. If you can walk into a store and buy the 9070xt for 699$, that's pretty decent all things considered. The problem is the 5070ti is sitting at 749,99 at the same store so, oh well

why on earth would powercolor think it's ok to have the 9070 NOT XT version be more costly than competitors 9070 XT ?! if these prices are true it's a bad product regardless if performance reaches the highs they have touted for it

yea this makes zero sense. not real prices. how could there only be $1 difference in XT vs NON XT version?!

Yikes, I really hope those leaked price are just place holder and 9070xt is closer to at most 549 or 599 USD. The community need a good and affordable GPU so much at this point, that a stupid high price won't even give me that warm feeling of being right to get a 550usd 7900xt at Black Friday last year...

Intel gave us a somewhat nice entry level card (somewhat because, hard to find at MSRP and also because you need a relatively good CPU to get the most out of it) but the PC community still need a good mid-range GPU.

Do we need to place hope in Microsoft to release a "open store" XboxPC or Valve to revive desktop Steam Machine at this point ?

No.. 700 is just too much for the 9070 xt. Given the 7900 xt has been at that for a long time, and they are claiming similar performance, this just makes no sense. What the hell are AMD on?

I am assuming(or dreaming if you prefer) that AMD will have enough stock for someone to be able to find MSRP models available for more than 5 minutes after release of the cards and not have a repeat of what happened with Nvidia cards. Much more that 5 minutes. More like 5 weeks latter.
If prices end up at over $700 for the 9070s, then people should just boycott both companies.

They'll officially keep that price but board partners will sell as high as possible. Looking at the reviews on here, the lesser models have very bad coolers and you need to step up to the top tier to get something good. It's always been like this.

I'm just waiting for a decent 5080. I have no other viable upgrade path from my RX6950XT.

Nah, only way to win this game is not to play. I'll hunt something down on the secondary market instead. I don't really need that much GPU to drive my games.
And that is the problem. Too many people and the tech indusrty have turned what a multimedia tool (a computer) into a luxury item that reduces in value.

PROFESSIONALS DO NOT USE 4K IN PLAYING THEIR GAMES. Being a professional gamer is a job. They know what resolution they need to play. What gear and equipment to use. And it is HARD WORK.

Whether you like it or not, AMD and rightly so is known for lousy drivers and as selling second rate video card. Those are the facts. Just look at the market share.

Again If the current information is correct about pricing, AMD is going to shoot themselves in the foot again.

They might get some short term sales, until Nvidia puts the hammer down and just like for past history, AMD product stops selling.

And in the long run they will continue to lose marketshare.

It would be interesting to hear AMD's reasoning for why they lost so much market share on the GPU side, and then how they expect this new series to break that trend.

$700 from asrock? okay okay, not amazing but we'll see about that performance.
$1100 from powercolor. pure partner greed.

Most everything works on 3000 series.
... And plenty of great games work on embedded graphics. God knows I'd rather play UFO50 than whatever Ubisoft puts out.

Before everyone jumps down AMD's throat on pricing look at the As Rock variants and realize they match the proposed MSRP. There are also no Sapphire variants in there. This means those cards will be just over $925 Canadian on Newegg.

I've been doing that since my RX 570, the last brand new GPU I've bought was my old Gigabyte GTX 950 Xtreme in 2015.
I don't even bother with e/retailers in my country ever since cause the prices are completely insane and I aint paying that. 'I always do my research and only buy from legit sellers on the ~ biggest second hand market around here and so far I've had no issues with that, knocks on wood..'

Like with many egregiously over-priced and under-delivering products, the best option is to wait. In a world where stockholders think in more and more suffocatingly short terms towards a hair's breadth from speculation, a lack of 'satisfactory' sales numbers makes for rockslide pricing, especially in AMD's case near the middle-age of RX 7000. Those were some burning-hot prices...

But yeah, I'll wait for when these (hopefully inevitably) crawl towards the price that people were actually excited about.

Only one model of the 5070Ti exists at anything close to MSRP.
At least the Asrock XT is matching the MSRP, while the XFX is only $30 over MSRP.

Do the 25% tariffs have anything to do with possibility that microcenters are not trying to scalp?

2, the gigabyte windforce and the asus prime. But why does that matter? You wanna buy a cheap card, you buy the cheap card

Welcome to my universe, stranger.
How much does the 9070xt cost in your universe?

It matters because none of those cards are at MSRP either, unless you have access to a microcenter to buy one in store.
AMD waited to see what Nvidia did, so of course they want to charge as much as possible. We'll keep having a f*cked up GPU market unless Nvidia stops being greedy, they control the market.

The 9070XT isn't released yet, and I'm too far away from a Microcenter for these prices to matter.

Expected MSRP at least, since the official price hasn't been announced as yet.
