We had the unpleasant surprise of learning on 03/06/2025, through an article on Kitguru website Link, that a Dutch retailer—UW GAME SPECIALIST—allegedly informed a customer that they were unable to fulfill their order because 5 GeForce RTX 5090 32G Suprim SOC from our brand had supposedly been recalled due to a fire hazard.

With this statement, we would like to make it clear that these allegations are absolutely false, that no recall program is in progress, and that our products present no such risk.

Furthermore, we would like to specify that this retailer is not one of MSI's partners, and we do not work with them.

We reserve the right to initiate legal proceedings against those responsible for these highly defamatory allegations, which harm our brand's reputation, as well as against anyone contributing to their dissemination.

We recommend you to purchase from one of our authorized resellers as listed below.

That is somewhat weird because my local (EU-"alza") E-shop also pulled "MSI GeForce RTX 5090 32G Suprim Liquid SOC" from listing it yesterday. Are we sure nothing is happening ?

They’ve gone full Nvidia so it won’t end well for them. See Evga as an example.

What happened to Club3d? They went full AMD.

Can I get the background on this image? I don't know anything about MSI and fires.
Couple of years ago (2020 IIRC) some PCB factory went on fire. It coincided with GPU shortages.

Not to add fuel to the "fire", but I've noticed something over on the Microcenter subreddit... Lots of people posting "Got my 5090" photos and the MSI ones all seem to be Gaming Trio's, not Suprim's. I've been wondering if that meant they stopped making the Suprim after launch, but now another possible explanation arises...

(Maybe?) Unrelated, but I noticed on Microcenter's website, MSI card prices have shifted, downwards believe it or not!

Yeah. Companies generally make statements like this when they are on the ropes. Given what happened with AMD (pulling out of being a GPU partner) and with how nVIDIA treats their AIBs...

...I don't know. That is just informed speculation. If there was any company that would appear the next to fall (in at least some respects) I've always considered them to be the #1 candidate.

I believe Tom [MLID] has alluded to this as well (in not so many words, for he a sometimes kinder chap than myself; I prefer not to mince words even if it appears less affable).

This has been somewhat reflected in their pricing, which for AMD products (when they made them) were often a very good deal. I attributed this to likely not moving enough volume.

They’ve gone full Nvidia so it won’t end well for them. See Evga as an example.
Accurate. I don't even think they know this yet. They might, and why they're acting out like this.

What happened to Club3d? They went full AMD.
They were a company that at some point just stopped operation, likely as things became more complex. This is not that. MSI is very much in the eVGA situation IMO.

What reputation?

Can't take away something that company doesn't have. Unless we talk bad reputation. Then yes, they can always dig deeper that hole.

Club 3D exited this business a very, very long time ago. They just sell cables now. High quality, certified cables which I use and wholeheartedly recommend, but they no longer sell GPUs.

Not even close, MSI moves more cards than EVGA ever did. They're one of the biggest OEMs around.
