This is worse than the Radeon 6600XT in the first days after launch in regards of availability of the cards. Took me several days in the past to buy a graphic card.

Yesterday I saw the status "ready for preorder" or "there is no price determined yet for the product".

I found two bot site which scrapes the prices for the cards locally. The cards are really fast gone. I do still not know if these are real sales or just bait offers. I want to know how many cards are sold.

Germany - list with 9070 and 9070XT offers and which "seems to be sold" - Intersting in regards of price history

Germany - There are two sites - I'm only interested in the 9070XT.

I assume some cards are really sold for these prices.

Note: Sharing those links does not matter - Scalpers for sure have better means - these are public known sites. Some sites just put 50€ extra on the price when you click on those "bot" found prices. Some well known Mainboard brand shop did not even worked today to order with 3 different browsers - even with unmodified microsoft edge browser

Well, my local MicroCenter is sold out now. I don’t know how many they started with, but it looked like they had a healthy supply to start with. Now I guess we’ll see when the stock comes back. Considering AMD delayed the launch, hopefully that means that much more time for supply to build. That, or we just saw how much an extra month or two got us. Sold out on day one regardless.

Same around me, looks like they got through all of yesterday but you had to go in-store to purchase no reservations. All new Nvidia cards gone too. Feels very 2020-2021 ish.

They have a big message header about the 5000 series, saying they are working hard to get more in stock. Curious if they’ll say the same thing for Radeons. What sucks is the last gen stuff is all gone already. Kinda sad that we can’t even settle for that anymore. If your GPU goes down, you’re screwed right now.

TBH with you and the rest, I might say I took the bullet and got a Sapphire Pulse RX 9070 for 630EUR, kinda at its MSRP, just 13EUR more, which is a decent margin for the shop. Despite the frustration of not getting the XT at the accorded price, I didn't give up during the next minutes, I know just the 9070 can meet my demands for the next 4 years. I renewed my whole rig recently and according to most of the opinions in another thread, I went a lil short for my resolution. Since I'm still in return period for my current one, or I could sell it at a good price for a good friend that could get it, I think I did a good move, not to mention the extra 80W I'm gonna save in my power bill :D

Let's hope I don't spoil it and they don't send me an email warning or something, and also the delivery goes well, crossing fingers for tomorrow.
Sry man but, I think the MSRP for 9070 is about 507EU or 426£. I'm thinking myself for the 9070 but, maybe in May prices will look better. But also might be just a silly 30£ less.
However looking at the history of prices for 7800XT they dropped around 50-60 £ after increasing 30£ over launch price.

Not sure will drop much for neither 9070XT or 9070.

With current pricing AMD will not gonna take back any slice of market back from Nvidia. I hope they will but, I don't think they are able to. Prices should have been aggressive low like 450-550$.
Should have been a sacrificial generation with very little profit for AMD, the profit slices being for AMD only: data centers +gaming CPU + Consoles and future Strix APU which are promising.

Computerbase claims 629€ non XT or 689€ for the XT card:

Check those lines with "Referenz" and XT and not XT. German text above seems to be the same.
I left the hole table, so anyone can find the section in the provided page easier

You’re forgetting 21% VAT for my country. 549$ that turns into 664$ and then around 615 EUR. So i paid around 15 eur more over MSRP

edit: btw, it has arrived and already testing it.

if people didn't buy into these prices, they would have come down, 2B lesson in revenue is still a lot of money.
And there is also the AI crap, the reason why we have no supply.

Crypto - Covid - AI - ??
We are also probably paying for the amount of insane investment in new fabs, we're subsidising the AI crap.

I see new 7080's and 7090's (there aren't many but still you can easily find them) going for the exact same price they were going for 2 years ago. Not sure what is going on.

I'm trying to help not antagonize you.
VAT, scalping, tariffs, marketing it doesn't matter I always calculate what's coming out of the end user pocket on top of the MSRP.
You have to reverse the whole chain of add up costs, when the price gets lower let's say in 3-4 months and you'll realize the VAT in your country is still 21 % yet price of the card may be 50-70 EU lower so actually you'll realize that they cut down, some of BS inflated price, some of the profits.

And yes as someone suggested, we have all to agree to call it MFRP from now on.

I get your point, but I think taxes are a separate matter from price fluctuations. MSRP in the US is always before tax cause every state has their own, whereas in Europe, VAT is usually included in the final price. In my case, with 21% VAT, the expected post-tax MSRP is around €615, so paying €630 is pretty much in line with that. If anything, it's the "country" charging more, not the retailer or AIB.

Also, VAT isn't always a fixed cost for everyone; if I were self-employed and could justify this purchase as a business expense, I could deduct the VAT later, effectively paying the pre-tax price. But for regular consumers, it's just part of the final cost, where the "country" share is already included thanks to this.

That said, I understand your point about aggressive pricing, but I don’t mind the MSRP that AMD set for retailers. Within this market, I think it was fairly reasonable. The real issue is that they only stuck to that price for the first batch, which sold out within the first hour, that's the frustrating part IMHO.

They knew the MSRP wasn't going to stick. People want to think AMD/Nvidia are ignorant of how the retail market works and how supply/demand will drive up prices under low supply conditions, I assure you they are not ignorant. They both have people that know 20X more about how the market will react than anyone here, myself included.

I dont think AMD was expecting this to be a hit actually. Give them time.

Agree, they kinda delayed the release to try to build up stock but it's not easy when NGreedia clearly don't care about the gamers and offload everything to AI and server market.

So even if every store had 100.000 9070 XT cards from different AIB partners it wouldn't be enough to go around sadly.

MSRP is just a suggestion but people keep expecting every model to be a MSRP board but I bet that not even AMD or AIB partners have actually done a good survey to show what people will actually want in a graphics card because if the survey showed that the majority of people wanted cards at MSRP maybe 90% well they would know what to do and made more MSRP cards but I doubt anyone ever made a survey and bothered to ask all over the world.

Then AMD shouldn't f**king put out baseless rumours that they have been stockpiling cards for months, nor should they allow partners like OCuk to do the same. That creates a false impression that is quickly destroyed when launch day hits, and drives massive distrust and dislike. In contrast, if you are honest and tell people beforehand that you are doing your best to provision stock but supply is constrained, prospective buyers are far more likely to be understanding.

Got a 9070 for £539, I only decided I wanted to get one on launch day and almost didn't bother but now I'm so glad I did.

I hope others can get them in the future without having to pay the inflated prices.
