Fatshark has released its latest free update for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, called Nightmares & Visions. The latest updated brings a new wave-based activity, improvements to the end-game mode Havoc, overhaul of the Ogryn Talent Tree, time-limited special event, balance and quality of life changes, support for NVIDIA DLSS 4, and some bug fixes and changes.

The biggest update is the new game activity, Mortis Trials, which is a wave-based activity, with randomized abilities and buffs. Nightmares & Visions also bring a big refresh to the Havoc mode, with plenty of improvements, including rank overhaul and campaigns, as well as new challenges. The update also adds a time-limited special event, called "A Day At The Theatre", which focuses on playing Mortis Trials, while Ogryn Talent Tree also got a big rework.

In addition, the update also adds support for NVIDIA DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation for GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics cards, as well as an option to choose between the CNN model or the new Transformer model for DLSS Super Resolution on all GeForce RTX graphics cards. Fatshark also fixed several bugs and brought some changes including weapons and blessings, classes, combat, missions fixes, some general stability issues, and various cosmetics issues. You can check out the extensive update release notes over at the Warhammer 40,000: Darktide website.

Fatshark was also keen to note that the Nightmares & Visions Update is released across all platforms, PC (Steam and Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, and to celebrate the launch, the Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is currently 50% OFF on Steam.

As someone that really loves this game, the 'content' the past ~6 months has been content I'm not particularly interested in. It's basically just been 2 new game modes, Havoc & now Trials. Neither are what I'm personally looking for. I would like to see a new class (it's been 2.5 years) and a quicker cadence of new core game mode maps.

Personally I'd like maps not located in Atoma Prime. I'm not well versed in 40k lore, but there has to be a lore-explained way to get the characters out of Atoma Prime for a mission. There's only so much variety you can have from a hive city, after a while it feels very same-y. Vermintide 2 in comparison has a much larger variety in maps, making it more visually appealing and the maps less repetitive because it's not as limited in its environment.

Dose anyone here play this game on a high end CPU like X3D chips or 14Th gen i7/i9 ? I am curious as to what is your 1% lows, as this game seems to be very CPU heavy. And i do wonder if i should upgrade my 12600K first or my 4070 so as to get higher 1% lows in this game.

Yup, this is my biggest complain about Darktide, but i understand that is the limitation of the current location or set of missions. Now, if Fat Shark would ever expand the game to other planets, the 40K universe would offer us the players way more variety than Fantasy Warhammer could.

Run "intel presentmon" while playing the game to compare cpu vs gpu utilization, then make your decision.
This new update is pretty meh, I think everyone would've enjoyed something more like chaos wastes.
