Hi, I have bought a new PC a few months back and I can not get RAM to run at the higher speed no matter what.
I tried all BIOS versions since it was released and no luck. Currently using version 3.18, waiting for the Agesa update.
Once I change to XMP/EXPO profile, it goes black and stays like that forever. I have to reflash BIOS to be able to boot again.

It is not a huge issue, everything runs fine, it is just mildly annoying. https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/B650M-HDVM.2/index.asp#BIOS

The official spec for 7000/8000 Series Ryzen is 5200 MHz. You can pretty much run 5600-6000 with 2x 16 GB sticks, but 2x 32 is a hard stretch.

Edit: It might work if you put the memory controller into 1:2 mode, but I'm not sure if it's worth the hassle (you may lose more on the slow memory controller than you gain on the fast RAM).

Yes, I tried 5200 as well, but no luck. Motherboard is supposed to support up to 7200, but not really. I actually wanted to buy 5200, but 5600 was cheaper at the time. I would not mind paying for 6000 though.

Then generate a DIMM module report with Typhoon Burner or similar detailed app and report back to Asrock

but 2x 32 is a hard stretch.

I think it depends on if its 1R or 2R. For instance I run 2x32GB 1R modules and I havent had any sort of trouble.

I think its like the '4x' argument. i.e 4x2, 4x4. 4x8 etc etc its going to put a whole level of stress on the memory controller

::EDIT::

While my argument is pretty legit. I think my ram might actually be 2R and not 1R as originally stated....

Seems to be a lot more RNG on the controller and board compatibility.

Instead of using the XPO profile (XMP) try just setting the dram frequency to desired speed and manually set dram voltage to spec. Leave all the timings auto. Yes, the board may take several minutes to train the memory. No more than like 3 to 5 minites.

You should not have to "flash bios" to recover the system. Try just using the clear cmos jumper on the board instead.

It actually took only a few secs, but CL is terrible. 5200@CL42 and 5600@CL46. Anyway, I tried EXPO profiles once more and at least 5200@CL40 finally works. Maybe in a year I will get 5600@CL36.

Did you check your mobo's ram QVL before you purchased your ram as it seems yours is not on the list for your mobo
compatible Kingston 5600MT/s ram modules start with KVR until you get to 6000Mt/s which is KF

I miss what processor you are using. Why did you not provide a zentimings screenshot?

It seems you have the same dram modules

Code:
Sienna_Cichlid /home/roman # lshw |grep KF; cat /proc/cpuinfo |head|grep 7600
             product: KF556C36-32
             product: KF556C36-32
model name : AMD Ryzen 5 7600X 6-Core Processor

You may check this: https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/...-only-for-ryzen-am5-users.335298/post-5494705

I have most settings done manually for my DRAM. Did you swap recently the processor from the mainboard?

My DRAM also runs at 4800 MT/S after a CMOS reset or uefi update. That is the fallback mode.

This is just for information. I also did that first for my platform

Memory speeds - which should work:
2x1R
DDR5-5200
2x2R
DDR5-5200
4x1R
DDR5-3600
4x2R
DDR5-3600

I'm not sure of those termination resistor values. Maybe your board really need those 60 Ohm always.

CLDO VDDP is very low on your side. 0.81VDC = basically 0.8V; I have 1.15V DC That is really far low.

Some subtimings of your screenshot are very low in my point of view. I'm not an expert.

May I suggest: Research those values I pointed out. Research what is safe to set or not. Research what other people have set. I provided you a topic for that to read. Check your Voltages in the mainboard.

edit: Safe your current settings. MAke a cmos reset - start fresh. Set most values by hand - except those termination values. I usally use my tablet to search for answers while typing in the UEFI = bios.
You may try my values but with those changes. FLCK = 2000 / MCLK = UCLK = 5200 (later 5600)
Do not use those termination = ohm Values from my board. e.g procodt, proccads and such.
--

Also note: you have an apu. Taht is not ryzen 7000 or ryzen 9000 silicion as far as i know. So thinks may be different.

-- You may also look what other APU users are doing with their DRAM. = ryzen 8000 series cpu only on am5.+#

Note: It's your responsibility what you set. Those settings are basically overclocking. Only default is "safe". What default is - is up to discussion. Just a warning.
