BenQ today announces the launch of its new X series LCD monitors- the BenQ X900, X900W, X2000W and X2200W, providing consumers with a perfect gaming experience using its advanced gaming features, video performance and exciting design. Equipped with Senseye+Game, PerfectMotion and AMA technologies, BenQ's new line of 19", 19"wide, 20"wide and 22"wide monitors provides consumers with a combination of personal style, vivid colors and leading technologies.

BenQ's X series LCD monitor features a stylish black color and checkered flag pattern at base. Equipped with Senseye+Game technology, X series provides six specialized display modes (Standard, Dynamic, Movies, Photos, Action Game and Racing Game) to deliver the widest range of viewing experiences. Among them, two dedicated gaming modes - Action Game and Racing Game - give consumers the power to configure gaming experiences and engage them into the heart of the game. BenQ's exclusive Senseye+Game Technology provides consumers with the ultimate visual clarity, depth and richness. Image quality is automatically and dynamically improved to deliver exquisite clarity that's bolder and brighter, immersing the consumer into the action.

By using AMA Technology, BenQ improves the gray to gray response time for clearer images. Consumers can see a more realistic picture quality without any ghosts or lagging while watching DVDs or playing games. To improve video performance, BenQ LCD monitors also come equipped with HDMI, allowing easy connection of HD enabled equipment such as HD DVD players and the latest gaming consoles.

Furthermore, PerfectMotion technology and 92% color gamut are embedded in higher end model - BenQ X2200W. PerfectMotion is a new technology, a dynamic video display processing technology that creates a new standard for LCD monitors - Motion Picture Response Time (MPRT). PerfectMotion can provide world leading 8ms MPRT while other typical panels provide over 20ms MPRT. 92% color gamut provides higher saturation of color space which human eyes can sense more vivid and colorful images display on LCD screen.

Hey Wile E, i've seen you discuss panel types before and was wondering, are you aware of any (wide) monitors between 19" - 22" for reasonable prices that use something better than a tn panel? i recently bought a samsung 931BW as it was rated as having the best picture quality in its class, but i think it's awful in comparison to my mitsubishi diamondpro crt, the colours are all washed out if i move more than a few inches from dead centre.
I think i remember reading (possibly in one of your posts) that apple displays are better, but they seem unreasonably expensive in Britain in comparison with US prices

I feel your pain. I hate my Tn panel. I'm completely spoiled by my iMac's 20" S-IPS panel.

The Ultrasharp Dells generally have the better panels as well.

Panels better than Tn-Film carry a premium tho.

One tell-tale sign of a quality panel is the higher viewing angles. Most have viewing angles above 170 for both horizontal and vertical. Some Tn-Film are able to achieve 170 tho. If you have any doubts, try looking the panel up at this site: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/

Use the panel search function.

If you can't find it there, search out some reviews, and see if they tell the panel type.

As a tip, Double Sight, Acer, and Westinghouse usually have good deals on monitors with high quality panels.
