Meh, it is just like when XP first came out. it was such a big change from what people had gotten used to that no one wanted or felt they needed to rush out and spend $500 on a new OS when they just got the previous one working well.

the only good thing about vista is that its allowed me to have 4 gigs of cheap memory i dont really need in my XP system..

i move over very late in the life cycle of the latest Microsoft money making creation.. they all follow a pattern.. at first they are slower and lack driver support.. after a while the slow factor gets forgotten cos hardware gets better and they become the norm..

then things start to demand the latest operating system and lack support for the old one.. thats the time i move.. by then another new one is just around the corner.. he he

and the frist thing i do when i do move is try and make the new system as much like the old one as i can.. and yep my current XP looks very like my original win 95 did..

Reason i dont move to vista is because there is very little benefit to me against the price, DX10 is all well and good but if it means performance loss in vista then there is no point to me. And Kreij do not say that everyone on TPU should have a high system or be OCing like mad, some people are not as privilaged as you are and have to make do with what they have, also some may only be here to advance on there computer knowledge.

i think the major problem is OEM's that load the OS on PC's that barely meet minimum specs and dont even reach anywhere near recomended specs. thing runs like molasses on a cold morning and thats not wha someone who buys anew pc is looking for.

Very true. Although it runs fine with 1 GB of memory. I would highly reccomend having a dual core CPU to run Vista with, to have a much smoother ride.

Had you fully read the article (which you admitted that you didn't) and based your comment relating to the article then I would neither agree or disagree.

-you provided no proof that the website is anti microsoft.
-you haven't provided any proof that article is based on random opinions.

Guess you don't know what an opinion is. It's a personal belief, and can't be proved. In my opinion, EastCoasthandle is a f***ing moron, and needs to be banned. Can't prove that, but it's what I believe :slap:

Out of just what zek pointed out, here are the opinions...

No compelling reason to upgrade from XP Someone else can think differently.
User Interface changes made Vista seem overly complex Not to me
Too many people were in charge of designing Vista That's just what someone thinks, MS could think that's plenty
Advertising campaign was confusing Once again, someone can think that
No obvious link between Office 2007 and Windows Vista Office 2007 was designed for Vista
Way too many versions. Someone else can think differently on that. I think 4 is enough.
Home basic for basic systems
Home premium for faster systems
Business for businesses
Ultimate for all 3 in 1

According to Microsoft Watch, you should not be listening to Microsoft, and know that Vista didn't too very well this year <<-- Tell me that's not enough to be Anti-Microsoft??

1) Everything we were promised in alpha stages was thrown by the wayside to keep it moving. Unfortunately this wagon only rolled to the bottom of the hill.

Name calling will get you nowhere. And your points of reference don't imply an opinion they are stating those as fact gathering :slap:
No one said anything about "not listening to MS" was that thrown in there for fun?
Also, just because they point out flaws about Vista doesn't mean they are Anti-Microsoft.
If Vista did well I'm not seeing it. According to Market Share, things do not look to well for Vista this year.
And, your defense to just buy Ultimate is simply absurd . With the purchase of laptops along with other PCs some people just don't have the option to pick and choose. In addition, there is no practical need for Ultimate if the PC is used mostly for basic home use. If you visit Windows Vista: Choose an Edition there is little to no real tangible difference found for average home use (excluding Enterprise). From what I can tell the differences include, but not limited to:
-Desktop Window Manager
-Transparency or translucency, window animation, Windows Flip 3D or any of the functions provided by the DWM
-Windows Display Driver Model
-built in games like Chess Titans, Mahjong Titans, Purble Place, and Inkball
-Windows Media Player and Windows Movie Maker

Wasn't there talk about this feature in Vista which benefitted gaming, where everything is unloaded from the system memory including the kernel? What a way to woo gamers. Go to see, every DX9 game performs better with XP.

EastCoasthandle, dude, what you have to understand is that he(3991vhtes) has a Vista logo as his avatar pic, so you can pretty much forget about reasonable discourse as far as anything Vista-related goes.

Sure, I could detail out my personal Vista experiences, like I did in many other threads in detail. Overclocking/stability issues, performance penalties, pointless eye-candy, bloat, and similar (vs. Win XP/2k). Heck, I could even include charts and graphs for the attention-span impaired among us, but it would make no difference to him, because with him, this really is not about Vista to being with.

holy fuck and a half.

this all started out as me saying that it's an anti-ms site, and that jackass wanted to argue about it, then it got turned to vista.

Guess you jump to conclusions just like EastCoasthandle

Good job!

That symbol isn't necessarily Vista, looks like XP's symbol just the same. Hopefully in the next year or year and a half Vista will lose some weight or keep it but become more fit.

What you say is true, since he can only use profanity incoherently only proves your point. But I can only guess that he has nothing else left in him to make any tangible, coherent rebuttal outside of what's already been said

It's the truth like my pinky just grew a cock.

It's a bias'ed Article.

Yeah, people hate Vista. Others like it.

OBVIOUSLY people like Microsoft Watch have to write this shit to convince people to NOT get Windows Vista.

Hell, I think I'll start my own anti-Linux site, and write some shit that will try to convince people to not use Linux.

lol god this is funny i love it when people argue over the internet it just shows that people have to much free time, but any way vista isnt terrible im running both xp and vista xp is faster because it was built with older technology and it is much more stable because M$ has had time to make it more stable 7 yrs is it now and vista will get better with time just like xp did and i also like vista and xp if you do some very simple tweaking to vista through the preferences menu you can make it much more friendly and that list does make some really good points and explain why people didnt jump at the chance to buy vista when it was released
