Nintendo is proud to claim the crown of fastest-selling consoles this November, and they can't seem to keep a good stock in stores, creating a huge demand for the tiny white consoles. However, new research may stop that trend cold. Some pest control professionals discovered something uncanny regarding the Wii: it attracts cockroaches "better than a four-week old pizza." Of course, this sounds absolutely preposterous, considering that the cockroaches do not have the most attuned hearing glands. However, the Wii is known to put out "air and ground vibrations", which in turn suck the cockroaches out of hiding just like that aforementioned four-week old pizza. This research has yet to be confirmed by anyone other than the independent laboratory that came to this conclusion.

Now im scared to turn on my Wii.:(

Hope my brother doesn't play his too much... =\

Wii argue with you.. ^_^

lol, talk about a console being 'buggy'
wouldnt this apply for other consoles moreso then the Wii,
i swear my xbox would vibrate heaps more then a wii due to its old bearing fan,
more so to that point, doesnt that make really old dirty desktops super roach-attract'n machines?

I think it's more like it puts out the right vibrations. I mean, think about it in terms of weather.

If it's not cold enough, you're not going to get any snow.

If it's just right, you're going to get snow.

If it's too cold, you're going to get an ice storm.

LMAO, everything vibrates air and ground molecules. Thats right, even when you fart, you are vibrating those air molecules, attracting thousands of cockroaches...

useless research

some companies come with the stupidist shit ever just to discredit others. like with what nvidia did to ati about resolutions or some thing like that a few weeks back

yer i remember that panchoman, they made a big deal about hdtv playback something to do with when playing hdcp content at true 1080i/p resolutions. psht please..

i agree with u aswell hat, alot of research is pointless and proves absolutely useless information, then agan. zek has a good point, if its an exact vibration, then its possable that it could cause a critter problem. im sure that creative ppl like us can think of a solution pretty easily tho. how about a thick rubber mat to sit the wii on, wa-la problem solved..

but thenagain, i can already think of benefits from this.

'i am buying all my enemies wii's for christmas >:D moohahahbwahahahahhaa'
:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Yeah and otherwise intelligent people have thrown their wii-mote into their TVs, creating a shortage on purpose...what's next? Yet another attempt to put down the wii.

I think the stupidist attempt is the shortage conspiracy...Nintendo is losing 1.5 billion this year because of high demand...not on purpose.

It's not the vibrations or infrared or anything, it's that Wii owners are more likely to be dirty hippies.

Dirty hippies are in tern more likely to live in roach territory and are more likely to attract roaches with their dirty ways.

If you/your family members keep up with the house cleaning especially in area like your kitchen you will avoid the chance of there being a roach infestation, hence clean house no roaches & everything is in order according to the health & safety standards.

but if you are a living like a hobo & you do have a roach infestation & you dont shower at least once everynight then ask yourself one question......whens the last time you had food poisoning?

how could you bare to live in such a shithole? this is your home you eat sleep & cheat on your gf in these places. - keep it clean

i live with a girl and the roaches come for the wii anyways :( previous housemate was a slob, so i guess SHE may have left crap we havent found yet

Im sure Nintendo wont be happy with that research maybe they should sue the independent laboratry seems to be the season for it

I dont deny that my room is a bit of a tip. I have a Plethora of crap, an Aladins cave of crap, a crap whoring junkies worth of crap or some, somewhat er....unidentifiyable crap on my floor.

I sleep here, I game here & I watch my X-rated in here but yet there are no roaches....only misquitos & moths & the ocasional spider that sneaks into my room which usually gets rambo'd by my BB gun.

yes I need to clean my room out but i work 5days a week & when it comes to cleaning on my days off I really cant be arsed. rather just sit in my big chair & got kill a few people in CoD4

- thats the only kinda 'Cleaning House' I do

LMAO wow this is the biggest load of BS, I have ever herd. All eletronics attract roaches, some idiot wrote this origional article. I saw it too and decided not to post because its complete bs. I should write an article that says Xbox 360 and PS3 attract roaches, because they do too! Sorry Loads of bs guys.

I won't argue with the dirty hippy theory, LoL.

Just remember there are a lot of ways to attract/detract animals. Smells, sounds, vibrations, light. It is possible Nintendo has found the Roach Attracter!
They should patent it and sell it around the world while they can, LoL.

Unfortunately, the roaches leave a chemical trail, basically leaving a message to themselves and other roaches that says, "hey, hang out here!".

The only way you are going to get rid of them is to do a chemical clean of the house, and block all concealed entries to the building.

Pipes and drains and electrical wiring between walls needs to be properly sealed so they cannot pass through. Get to work this weekend!

AND DONT BLAME THE PREVIOUS TENNANT! That's like saying, my car is dirty because the previous owner didnt clean it before I bought it.
