Yea and that puppy costs 1990€ in Europe, shipping date: 9th of January 2008. Talk about us getting ripped of again...I am getting really tired of this 1:1 US Dollar to Euro exchange rate. We finance the weak dollar, because companies like Dell can sell with a small margin of profit in the US and a large one in Europe...

cheers

60 inch samsung HDTV or this...

I'd rather have a 2408WFP, if it ever comes out. 2560x1600 is just too much for me, 1920x1200 is just right, IMO. And, it's about time they start incorporating LED backlighting into these monitors.

amen!

Are these still using S-IPS panels? If so, I'd love to see what that LED backlight would do to an already spectacular image.

Wait a minute these aren't backlit?! That's crazy!

Of course they are.

This monitor uses the exact same panel as the 3007WFP HC.

All it really has over it, are the extra connection, which were the 3007WFP's greatest weakness.

Yes, and the fact that it costs an ass load more to get it into Europe has nothing to do with the inflated prices.:shadedshu

So does it cost $800 to ship it to europe per unit? cos thats the differance between the us and converted euro price,i doubt it.I agree with darksabre.

Shipping isn't the only issue that foriegn companies have to deal with when selling a product in Europe. The profit margin in Europe is actually smaller than in the US because of all the extra BS Europe puts companies through. The tariffs alone are probably more then $800 per unit. Don't bitch at Dell because you have to pay more, bitch at your government for charging insane import taxes and requiring so much legal BS to import a product.

Wonder how much longer until we see new 24 inch models.

Wow talk about a rip off.
I would rather get an HDTV and use it as a monitor since it will be much cheaper.

Hell, I got my 1080p Samsung 40" LCD HDTV for only a grand lol.
I would gladly get 2 instead of 1 Dell 30".

Nice specs, including DisplayPort.

Though when I can get 3 more 20's to match my current one for $600... I gotta go that route :)

You aren't going to find an HDTV that will do 2560x1600. That is why this thing costs more than a HDTV.

Yahuuu Displayport, at last. Can't wait for a 24"with it. Hope they drop TN panels next time.

Dang, with that 2560x1600 native resolution my current setup would not be much of a gaming system. I can't imagine how awesome some of the current games would look at those resolutions though. :D

I beg to differ! ;) Let's just say my dad works in export/import ^^.

The so called "BS" is pretty much just as you would expect within America.

There are no import taxes. The EU units are assembled in Hungary. So shipping is not it either.

Anyways I will wait for the 24 inch variant :D

Is his name George Castanza or Art Vanderle (Seinfeld).

Anyways, I agree way too overpriced for me.
I prefer my HDTV and my PS3 / Wii.
