Cooler Master Centurion 590 Arrives in March

Cooler Master is going to launch a new model, Centurion 590 for the mainstream market in March of this year. This 8.5kg steel case measures (B) 213 x (H) 440 x (D) 510 mm and is designed for ATX and micro ATX motherboards. There are nine 5.25" drive bays and one of these can be converted to a 3.5" floppy drive bay. The case features a removable module that supports four HDDs, but it takes up three 5.25" drive bays. You can mount up to six 120mm fans, but unfortunately the case ships with only two: one 120mm blue LED front fan and a 120mm rear fan. Two more 120mm fans can be installed in the front to up the total amount of fans to eight, but doing so will also prevent you from installing any optical drives. The case features tool-free installation for the hard disk drives, optical drives and add-on cards. The PSU is mounted in the bottom of the case and the rear features retaining holes for liquid cooling. The Centurion 590 has a fully meshed front for improved ventilation and has cable management holes to make cable routing easier. Finally, the Cooler Master Centurion 590 should be yours for less than $85 when it's released.

Looks ok, i don't like bottom PSU mounts, I'm afraid it might not reach. It looks kind of small but i guess thats cause its a midtower.

it looks like a hybrid of the RC690 which I own and hate, and the antec 900 which I also own but love.. both seam to be horrible for wire management though without modifications... I have dremeled my RC690 and still have issues with wires..

Im actually alil upset that they are coming out with this. I would want this over the cooler master CM690..which I just brought not that long ago. I actually have the old version of this case int he next room.

i think that they have the dimensions messed up a bit: 120mm x 440mm x510mm. doesn't the width seem a bit too small?...its a bit under 5" wide if those are the true dimensions lol

So a cheaper version of CM-690, but with a better usb-port placement (don't get dusty there). That price is weird though, because CM-690 is already under 85$ and this having one fan less, no rubber HDD mounts, bottom 120mm fan place or filter or that fancy roof on top, so can't be more.

Wouldn't mind owning one, but seems it's coming too late and I might have to give in to get a CM-690. If someone doesn't know a cheaper case with bottom mounted PSU, HDD silencers and 12cm fans (more than 2).

EDIT: Here is the vr-zone original page that has been taken out from google cache. Seems there's some HDD rubber dampening after all. I'd order it right away, if only it was available already.

About time they get their Centurion Cases in line with the others. I love my Antec Nine hundred, even though, as was stated, Wire management is a biach.

Well heat rises so it's kinda silly to run all hot air through the power supply making it run hotter and noisier. Not to mention that CPU is right below pushing some or most of it's hot air straight in the PSU, depending on the cooler.

PSU on bottom it gets cooler air, runs cooler and should not give extra heat to GPU. If it does, it's not efficient one (like my previous PSU that run super hot) and even if it did give some heat GPU's already run so hot that it won't affect the load temps.

Only motherboard connector that is really on top is the 4/8pin CPU power connector and most above avarage PSUs already have long enough cables to reach. If not, there are motherboard that have 4/8pin and 24pin connectors more to the middle of the motherboard.

And with the PSU out of the way, case roof has plenty of room for fans to move the hot air out. There are also those upside down ATX designs (door/window on right side) that have PSU on bottom, but they don't have fans on top, so the hot air get's trapped inside and GPU screams for mercy

Or you could mount the power supply so that it breathes through the bottom of the case...such as in the CM690's case. Completely eliminate the power supply from the airflow in the case....basically use your power supply as a mini vacuum haha.
