:rockout:

April seems to be a good month for gamers, good for the ps3 owners (something to justify their purchase ;))

April 9 - Star Wars: Force Unleashed
April 19 - GT5:p
April 29 - GTA4

and perhaps MGS4...

I am a big fan of the Gran Turismo series, but I'm not sure about this one. Mainly I don't like that you have to buy most of the content via the Playstation Store.

What content? The only content to buy that i can think of is episodes of your favorite car shows (eg... Top Gear, BestMotoring, etc.)

The KING of pc racing! oh wait....

I want a PS3 now, please.

The only 2 things missing from this game to make it the perfect racer, is in-car view, and a decent damage system. they got the in-car view with this one, now all we need is a damage system in the next... and its all Tiff Needle'ing GT-R's 'till the tarmac wears off :rockout:

I personally don't consider it as a demo. Its a full fledged game with all the trimmings (60 cars, 5 tracks, full online multiplayer, tuning options, GT:TV, etc.)

Consider this GT5: Lite. This game has more content for its worth compared to most racing games out these days.

Compared to how many cars GT4 had, this is a demo!
I don't want to think how much will the full-fledged GT5 will cost when it comes out!
The graphics are superb, but the absence of a damage model is a big -. I've seen some trailers on the net, and the collisions look like two billiard balls hitting each-other... Completely unrealistic and annoying! I hope they corrected this issue.
I've learned from past experiences that racing "sim" games that have as main features complete in-game dashboards but absolutely no damage tend to be bit of a dissapointment (ex: Test Drive Unlimited)... I sincerely hope this game is not in that category!

I think games like Ratchet & Clank and Uncharted:Drakes fortune have already shown what the PS3 is capable of (as long as the developers are competant) but I definately agree GT5 is going to be excellent (I love the demo).

^^I know they dont look all high and fancy, but when you put it up against a nice 1080p...its beautiful.

edit: you might get a better quality at stage6

You know, I guess some would say it's kind of a silly thing, but I'm really digging the visible steering wheel with hands that shift and stuff -- that was feedback that I always though was missing from the earlier versions.

Great -- now I have to go out and buy one of these damned overpriced PS3's, thanks.

First you can get a 40gb ps3 for $299 when you buy in from Sony and open a sony credit card (12 months no interest). Secondly, you getting more bang for your buck compared to the other consoles (such as wireless, blu-ray...).

as i said in another post...

The funny thing is that the 360 cost more than the ps3 if you think about it.

The ps3 80gb cost $500 bucks, and the equivalent 360, the elite, cost $350 bucks.

Now the 360 does not have built in wireless ($100) nor high Def player ($180).

So the equivalent 360 will cost $630, and that is not including a XBL gold subscription.

GT is based on real racing, not focusing on some damage model. GT fans don't care about damage because they know how well racing is in GT. GT sets the bar for racings sims. If you want to go play some game where you want to see damage go pick up Motorstorm or Forza. Have fun hitting people and running into walls on purpose just to see damage models.

Good racing makes for a better game than damage models. That's why GT is so successful.
