You should be ok. I think the 850 has dual link which means that if you plug in the connector closest to the Motherboard it should be in dual link mode. (ie work at 2560x1600) I would check the specs on the ati site to look fopr dual link support on the 850 to be sure.

I have spoken to the wonderful people who are dealing with my PC repair (coincidentally I'd fried my graphics card recently) and they're speccing up an x1800 as a replacement! The stars!
