I don't know why you would be sad about this. ATM 2 cards are definitely not being used to its limits. MAYBE crysis. Ill put it into an analogy, 2 cards in 2008 is to 4 cards in 2010. And even then, I think that 2 cards will be almost 100% utilized and hence be the norm just how 2GB is the norm at the moment for system memory.

raid cards, I want to get a 16x card, and what does it matter how many cards you think I need. If I wanted to put 4 video cards in a computer why the hell would you care?

Oh yeah, I'd kill for a nice four-slot PCIe x8 X38/X48 board :)

CrossFire with 2 or 3 cards, + a PCIe RAID controller.

Don't get your panties in a bunch there. I stated that the utilization for 2 cards is far from 100% at the moment. You can spend however much money you want on a 4 card configuration, the hell if I care what you buy.

well that was what I was thinking, why would you care, it doesnt really matter to me what others think but you immediatly thought I was using 3 or more video cards, and thats not the case. Right now I have 2 PCI raid cards, they work good but I think I could get better read/write times if I had them on a PCI-E 16x. And if x38 already had 2 PCIe and 3 on some, I really thought they were gonna put 3 maybe 4 on the x48. So thats why I was diaspointed(sad). the PCIe bus is a very fast bus thats used for more than just video.

asus sells lots of cpu coolers.i would think they design mobos with this in mine.sure its a tight fit but thats because of atx form.i really like lots of heatsinks on my board.

because assus makes it that doesnt mean its any good.

I'm still waiting for an x38/x48 (DDR2) to have esata. Nice boards though. (should there be a link to vr-zone?)

The sould stop making ddr2 highend boards or ddr3 wil never drop in price..
