Publisher Activision today announced its intention to release new downloadable multiplayer maps for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Infinity Ward's Call of Duty 4. The content packs should arrive this spring. No mention of pricing, map details, or a PC release was made in the statement.
We're excited about the new maps, and the added gameplay variety, and we can't wait to wrap things up and get online with everyone,
said Infinity Ward community manager Robert Bowling.

I would say probably because they make the most money in the console sector, and they will probably charge console users for the map packs.

Yeah propably, they know that pc gamers expect these things free of charge. No pc gamer is stupid enough to pay for shit that is supposed to be free service and gratitude from the devs. But im really looking forward for these new maps, the old ones are getting a little old. Hopefully new weapons will be added as well.

The funny thing is though, if you wait a while the map packs on consoles become free. At that point, all of the players probably get pissed and bang their heads into their TVs. :banghead:

lol yea, I don't think they appreciate how many people stole COD4 for the PC. But at the same time they have really been slacking on punkbuster lately.

What I find unusual is how games like Call of Duty get their start on PCs, and then go to consoles. At that point, the console owners sorta become the #1 priority of the developer while PC becomes the 3rd wheel sorta speak. What a shame, because it was the PC market who gave rise to the Call of Duty franchise, which in turn means Call of Duty owes its greatness to the PC. Oh well, what can you do... :ohwell:

Why go from a 8800 Ultra to a X800? You should get a 9800(when there out)

I wasn't satisfied with the graphics card to be honest with you, so I sold it. Now I'm just trying to decide which card(s) to get.

Right on point. Do you actually think ANY game developer company cares about anybody. They don't care about PC Gaming or Console Gaming, just about if it is going to make them cash or not. No company feels any shame porting games to any system because at least they know some of the user base will buy it. What fanboys have to realize is that you may care a whole lot about the company but the company doesn't give a rats @$$ about you.

And i think the COD4 Console maps are a good idea. But i am still used to free maps on PC. But still once it is free, it be in COD heaven:).

Not everyone cheats on PC(Except CS:S everyone cheats in that, lol), you just need to find the right server. You can't really cheat on a Console like you can on PC, But if that is what you hate the most then i say switch over to Consoles, Because you WILL see a cheat on PC every once in a while.

Lol, the cheating CS:S is has pretty much saturated the game. I mean, it's just so close to a point where everyone is cheating.

If there were not so many PC games being played and not payed for. (I believe this was in the news) Then the PC would be the money maker and get the most attention. Dont steal your game pay for it.

Yes, cheating on the console exists. It may not be near as often as with the PC, but it's actually quite a bit more involved.

Take the SOCOM series for example. The original one was more dependant on GameSharks and the like, but II and III (especially) could be manipulated with convulted and complex use of the basic functions in the online menus.

For instance, you could make yourself invisible and able to respawn in a non-respawn room, with any weapon, no reload, no recoil etc. It often involved a 'magic switch,' or pulling your ethernet cord out for a duration of time, then during the 'lag,' inputting a sequence or series of button commands (and no, not simple ones like 'up, down, left, right A+B+C - Sonic 1 on Sega woot I remembered lol!), reinserting the cable and then doing another set of oddball inputs. If done correctly you'd have pulled off the trick.

Now, who the hell ever figured out these sorta non-sensical cheat 'codes,' is beyond me, but I have to give them some credit. It's much more difficult than using a third party 'trainer,' or editing a config file on the PC.

Man are Pc gamers getting left behind these day,s. We buy game,s like console guy,s do and they make us wait for the extra,s. Is our money a differant color or what.

No,its not our money thats a differant color, its the fact that there are more people prepared to pay £50 for one game for a console, rather than £30 for a pc game.

There is only one console i would consider, and thats the wii,i'd use the other two as door stops.
