How do Geek Squad members get over paid? On average they get paid 8 dollars. I don't know why you feel like putting geek squad members on a chair below people on this forum. After working at Best Buy, a lot of them are really knowledgeable people concerning computers and do a lot of hardware (and overclocking) tweaking. Just because they don't do as good as job as you would on your own computer doesn't mean anything, they get paid 8$ per hour (to put that into perspective, 2 more dollars than people at mcdonalds)!

acctualy 8 is min wage here ROFL

Washington's 2008 minimum wage is $8.07 per hour
http://www.lni.wa.gov/WorkplaceRights/Wages/Minimum/default.asp

so they make 8.50 in the store when they start at best, that means they make 43cents more per hour then a fast food worker who just started and dosnt know shit.....rofl, SAD!!!!!

EDIT: and by sad i mean its sad they get more because in my exp many of them dont know shit.......they messed my mothers laptop up so bad when they reinstalled it for her after she bought it from BB that i had to do a clean wipe again to fix what they broke(alot of things where fuked up....to many to list) they had to reinstall it because it had been a display model and it was the last one they had in stock for the unit she wanted.....

how hard is it to install windows xp mce? really common now......

The thing about Best Buy is...The employees get paid very little in comparison to what Best Buy as a company stands to make for a service.

Well I bought my brand new Sony CDX GT710 for 89$ on Amazon, a product that Crutchfield doesn't sell anymore, which I saw at Best Buy on Tuesday for 299$.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8212793&st=sony+cdx+gt710&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1166236105843

vs.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000N3VFNK/?tag=tec06d-20 I bought from Barney's.

Does Best Buy just sell to the extremely stupid?

you just figuared that out :p

the ONLY time i get stuff at bb is when its on sale for close to what the egg charges and when they got dvd's on sale cheap.

Lol, you don't have to tell me that twice. I have an award at a company I don't even work at anymore for selling more in the media department than anyone else since day 1 of the store.

Why in the hell does she think that she is entitled to 54 million dollars. What is totally ridiculous is she rejected the cash that would have more than covered the lost laptop. Maybe she had something on the laptop that could have been cause for its disappearance into the geek squads hands

Why in the hell do people believe they have to respond with things like "why in the hell" before reading the article they're responding to?

Campbell admits that she doesn’t expect to win a multi-million dollar settlement but is still chasing substantial damages.

Screw Best Buy. As soon as I found Newegg, everything has been so much more convenient, cheaper, and courteous. Given that most corporations have screwed people over, I think Newegg has an extremely good reputation.

CompUSA never screwed you over unlike best Buy would

if she paid $1100 for her laptop the ADH plan would have been more than $300.

Her laptop is already out of date, and if they would have gave her the $900 she could have got another with the plan because it will "roll over".

Yes, most of the people who work in geek squad are dumb! and Most who work in pc's are dumb as well.

Granted, most don't spend hours and hours on their computer, so they really shouldn't be expected to know. We look on the cards and tell you about it.

i guess what im trying to say is this woman is SO retarded. She my friends is simply greedy

oh, and if bby is SOOO bad then why is it the # 1 retail store in electronics? Continuously growing? and expanding WORLD WIDE?

I hope she does win, BestBuy screws with a lot of things, and i agree the people who work for Geek Squad are mental, they know textbook things about computer, but dont know how to do anything else, i once asked them about Linux, they never had heard of it XD,

and also conserning the lawsuit, yeah she may not win but BB is probely going to offer something big and there going to accept it, not 54mil but over 2,500 for sure

And the "roll over" thing is also a scam( in a sence, not really tho) they honor the Man War, but extend it 2 years, you have to buy another one after they first year(or how ever long the man war lasts), and that isnt even true sometimes, when got my 360 i bought one, took it back 9 months later they exhanged it for a new one, went back 4 months later... i had buy a new one..why? because the Man. War. was up, but if you think about it didnt i get a new Man. War. with the new 360?
