Now thats what I call a factory overclock! If its in the $300-$325 range then that could be a decent deal, even with the 9 series coming out soon.

But I think the coolest part is that evga is also selling the cooler separately. Its about time a company does something like that.

hhmmm..... I disagree. While been very nice & good overclocks it also has a high price premium.

I bet here in the UK it will retail around £230

Thats way to high - thats why I got a 8800 GTS 512Mb sitting in my PC @ 730Mhz Core & 2100Mhz mem & it only cost me £190.

Would beat that card in EVERY test going.

It would be great if that card retailed in at the same price as other GT cards - but it wont.

Hmm, I've gotten 725ghz stable on my stock evga 8800gt. I hope that the price difference isn't over 50$ because you could just get an aftermarket cooler and the same clocks.

I agree, EVGA tends to sell pretty expensive parts.
Quality comes at a price, and this card makes no exception.
I don't really like factory overclocks, being an overclocker myself, I enjoy getting the most of my hardware by myself.
As a last note: I like the fact they're selling the cooler separately also!

D@mn! Now *that* is a cooler. I feel bad with my plain 650MHz/1900MHz EVGA 8800GT SC, especially because they won't sell the Akimbo upgrade kit outside North America. That's just too bad. Oh well. One thing's for sure though, I swear the 8800GT is the best GPU released in a long time. The customizations done by each and every company is amazing. Keep it up, EVGA!

Ok so I just looked at the 8800gt specs and you really can't clock the memory that high. This means that they're lying (doubt it) or that they're using a different memory chip.

The core is overclocked and the card uses 1ns memory chips, which have been designed to run that quick (although there probably isn't much headroom for overclocking).

Looks like the G92 GTS cooler with an additional backplate for the PCB...Kinda the same thing that was done with the ACS3. That is a 8800GTX reference GPU heatsink + Fan, without the plastic body. On top of that the ACS3 Solid metal cover + a backplate.

It does work though, and certainly adds value to the card

My Gigabyte 8800GT is already at 790.............and it has three phase as well, better cooler, and software so you can increase voltages and save power.

I'd get it for the warranty though, can't go wrong with EVGA's crazy warranty.

I have 2 eVGA 8800GT SSC cards stock are 700 core / 2000 memory / 1725 shader. I OCed mine to 760/2100/1850. I see some guys with the eVGA 8800GT SC or KO cards getting some nice OCing as well.

lol thats pretty much a standard GT with the 1.10v bios mod, and the core cranked up

Great performance tho, i dont notice much difference between my GTX and modded GT.
